Fairy Princess Crown

I've been searching for some fun little projects. Something that I can sit and make, you know, in a few short minutes. Because let's be real, I like a fast project. I like to sit down, and have something to show for my 10-15 minutes of work.

Not to mention, I've got a ton of beautiful Goddaughters. A ton! That LOVE dressing up. And when I make them a little present. So I'm searching for the perfect little "just 'cause" present. :) That's when I found Walker Whimsy. Such a cute blog! And this Fairy Princess Crown.

It looks like a fairly simple project. Something that you can adjust for kids of all ages. Can you just imagine, sisters wearing these? Like these little ones. Or these ones. Babies and little girls.

Now I'm off to search through my yarn stash. This would be one of those perfect patterns, to use up your "scrap yarn." And now that we're on the road again, I'm sure I can make a few of these. Well, a bunch of them! Are you with me?

Inspired By Spring

I don't know about you, but around here, the weather has been nuts! We were in sunny Florida, for about 2 weeks. And it wasn't very warm. It didn't feel like Florida at all! Then we come home to the South, and it's freezing!

It makes me want Spring and Summer, more than ever! My Bestie and I, we took to Pinterest over the weekend, for a little inspiration. And I have to say this, I was so inspired by the warm weather outfits! Like this one...

This outfit reminds me a lot of Easter. Can you believe, I'm already talking about Easter? I know! This year is flying by! I'm not complaining though. Spring is my favorite season. I adore everything about it! Spring cleaning, the plants blooming, birds chirping, the clothes, fresh food, holidays, and beautiful colors. Oh ya, my birthday is also in Spring! :)

I've actually been looking for something similar to this outfit. I've got a similar cardigan and jewelry. But I'm searching for a dress like this. Oh, and that bag! I'm a sucker for ruffles, bows, and pretty jewelry. Spring can't come fast enough for this gal!

From My Heart to Theirs...

Sometimes, you see something as a crafter, and say to yourself, "I MUST make that!" I had that feeling yesterday. You see, it's that "Time of Year" again. You know, when everyone I know, is having a baby. I'm not lying! From family to friends...co-workers to our favorite waitresses.

I'm feeling completely "Behind the Ball." I NEED to make a bunch of gifts. But I'm getting a little tired of the same patterns. So yesterday, I did a little searching. And found a lot of fun and new patterns. But none, grabbed my attention like this one.

I don't know what it is. Love is in the air. Babies are on the way. Sweet baby girls, ALWAYS steal my heart away!!! But this blanket, it's screaming for me to make it. No lie.

I'm not completely convinced with this color combination. I'm thinking something that says more "Baby Girl," rather than "Happy Valentine's Day." Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to make one for myself. To add to the "Love" decorations we got going on. But for my first take on this blanket, I'm thinking pink, white, and lavender.

And if you're just not "feeling" this lovely blanket, how about some potholders? The pattern says you can make dishcloths, but I'm thinking about potholders. Make 2 squares, and single crochet them together. That would be fun!!! ♥

Colorful Fun :)

Back in September, my Mom got an ad from Old Navy. Being a cardholder, these are regular. And honestly, the best thing to get in your mailbox. Well, besides those ads from Jo-Ann. :)

Almost immediately, my Mom went to Old Navy. She couldn't find this shirt. And might have gotten a little distracted, with other purchases. But my Mom never forgot about this shirt Actually, every single time that we talked, she asked me if I'd found this shirt.

Well, I finally found her shirt. Online! It's taken forever. Mom, I've got you covered, I ordered this shirt for my Mom. She just LOVES the bright colors! And I might have gotten this one for myself. :) I adore the green and blue combo. Around these parts, they are "regular" colors in our wardrobe.

Honestly, I'm kinda wondering if I should go back, and order the orange one for me too! Yes, extra "spare" time, can be a little dangerous. Let's not talk, about the online Christmas shopping, that I also did! ♥

Royal Purple Ruffles

I don't know, if I've ever shared these 3 important things with you. My favorite color is purple. All shades. Since I was an itty bitty. Ruffles make me smile. Oh yes, they do! And I adore jackets. Old Navy jackets to be exact. I try to buy a new one, every winter. :)

So when I saw that Old Navy was having their annual "Outwear Sale," I was all over it!!! But there are so many decisions. Secretly, I want one of each. And I'm not lying about that fact!!! But I restrained myself. Oh, and I remembered, that I still have some tuition payments coming up. So I picked just one...

This lovely purple number, is now all mine!!! I should have bought it a few weeks ago. The last two weeks, we've traveled to some chilly places. Instead, late last week I placed the order. And today, I got my precious jacket. :) We might just be in sunny Florida this week. But I did crank up the AC, just so I could wear my new jacket.

Between, if you are looking for a new jacket, run to Old Navy. I think the sale ends on Friday. But I did buy this beauty for $20. Regularly $55. Thanks to the sale, and an online coupon, I got a GREAT deal! I'm thinking "Girl Math." And I'm tempted, to buy this beautiful blue pal too! ♥

Mix and Match for Fall

One of my absolute, favorite things about Fall, are the colors. The rich colors. The mix of textures. Oh, I could just go on and on, for days. Instead, I was searching through Polyvore last night. Passing some time, before calling a friend.

What did I find? Well, lots of things. But there was one board, that completely stuck out to me. I don't know what it was. But I adored it. What do you think?

Mostly, I like the colors. The variety of colors. But more than anything, I like the idea of mixing textures. Of mixing, and matching pieces, from different seasons. For example, that dress might be from Spring or Summer. Those shoes, and that ring, are definitely Summer pieces. But that jacket, and the makeup, scream Fall and Winter to me.

That's the thing I love about Fall. You can mix and match so much. To get that perfect look. OK, I'm not in love with these shoes. But I like the color. Maybe I'd pair this outfit, with a similarly colored clutch. Perhaps find a pair of coral and pink earrings. And a turquoise blue ring. Taking these colors, but using them in a slightly, different way.

Quite in fact, this little picture, has inspired me. I'm sort of challenged by it. And now, I'm dying to dig through my closet. To see what I can pair together. What pieces would go well. As we transition from Summer, to Fall. ♥

60 Days...and a Little Wishing...

Just a little while ago, I got off the phone. With a good friend of mine. One that I hadn't talked to, in way too long!!! Say over a month...too long. If we're being honest here, it's almost been 2 years, since we've seen one another.

This is the same friend, that I used to meet for lunch...oh, 4 times a week. We'd literally spend 5 hours chatting. Meet up for lunch, that would take us well into dinner. That friend. One of my friends, that I'm desperately missing right now.

The funny thing that stuck in my brain...was Christmas. Don't panic or anything. But it's only 60 days until Christmas. I know!!! Where has the time gone? And my friend, she wants to know...just what I want. Um, even I was stumped by that question.

For the most part, I'm super easy to shop for! Buy me a scarf, and I'm your BFF. Get me some candles, I'm over the moon. A pair of chandelier earrings, I might just jump up and down.

But my friend was looking for something more specific. I thought, and thought. Then I remembered what I had told this guy, just the other day. Anything from Stella & Dot, makes me happy! Heck, I sold it for years. Cause you know, someone had to pay for medical school. :)

I thought I'd make it even easier for my friends. Pick out a few favorites. And you know, get them started. Because, Christmas is just 60 days away. I'm not panicking yet. Are you? So let's get started...

First up, Serenity Stone Drops. In jade please. :) $49 for the pair. And I'd just love them so! You know me and my earrings.

Keeping with earring theme, how about these Charlize Teardrop Earrings. Priced at $34. I just adore the various shades of blue. :)

Next, well there are 2 things in this picture. The Soar Necklace, for $59. Yes, this is my favorite of the bunch. But don't forget about the Tree of Life Necklace. For $69. Another darling!

I'd adore the Chelsea Necklace. In gold. For $59. Isn't it just lovely? You could layer it with other necklaces. Or wear it alone.

One of the mot gorgeous necklaces that I've seen, and amazing values, is the Glint Flower CZ Necklace. $39 for years of happiness! Don't you think???

Another simple necklace that I just adore, is the Aura Coin Drop Necklace. Come on, it's gorgeous! And just $49. Even I'm tempted to buy this one. Because I could see myself wearing it, every single single day!!!

Another favorite of mine, is this Serenity Small Stone Pendent. It reminds me of my birthstone. And is just $49. Honestly, this necklace would make a nice "every day" necklace too. :)

Something a little more understated, Odette Infinity Necklace. For $39. I just adore the mix "of colors."

Along those same lines, is the Together Forever Necklace. For $59. I adore the mix of metals. The different sizes, also makes this necklace interesting. Oh, I think I'm in love!!!

But really, we NEED to talk about the Infinity Charm Necklace. A little pricey at $79. But it is adorable!!!

The last necklace, that I'll be talking about is, the With Love Necklace. For $69. I like it's simplicity. But amazing meaning. This is high on my list!!!

How about a a few bracelets? Over the last few months, I've really fallen in love with bracelets. Any kind really. But here are a few of my favorites. :)

How about something for $19? This Courage Bracelet is one of my favorites. I just adore the style. And the little charm.

The Hope Bracelet is one of my favorites. Really it is! It's $32. But my favorite quality, is the rose gold! I've been a fan of rose gold, since I was a wee one!!!

The Elizabeth Bracelet is just plain fun!!! With a little bit of sass. For $29. Don't you just love it too? I do!

I can't help but be a fan of the Luna Wrap Bracelet. For $89. I think this would be a nice piece to own. Something that goes with a lot of other jewelry. But the real star here, is the Sole Bracelet. For $39. I don't know what it is, I just adore it!!!

Don't think I'm a spoiled brat. Or that I'm begging my friend for anything. She asked me a question. And it got me thinking. Of a few things, that I would welcome into my life.

But in reality, I'd adore a scarf from Wal-Mart, or a pair of earrings from Target. Heck, a nice lunch would be nice too! Although, if this Mr. is reading...these earrings, this necklace, or this one, or this one, or even this bracelet...they'd love living with us too!!! ♥

A Few of My Favorite Things

A few days ago, My Guy and I headed to my parents' cabin. My Mom had asked me to go and "winterize" the place. Because, they just couldn't get out there. Being that this guy is taking a little break from work right now, totally played into this plan.

We headed to Albertson's for a few necessities. And then across the street, to Walgreen's. You know, before heading to the mountains. Where the nearest store, is over an hour away. We needed to stock up, on a few things. Nothing too nuts. As we were only going to be there, for 2 days.

But that didn't seem to bother, little 'ol me. :) First of all, I'm pretty sure, I bought out these little guys. My favorite candy. That I can't find anywhere else...

Why are they my favorite? I don't know. Probably because these are my favorite flavors. And I don't have to eat lemon candies. That I just don't like.

Oh, and I couldn't resist the "Beauty Section." Where I bought my new favorite nail polish. L'Oreal's "Eiffel For You." It looks pretty purple, or lavender, in this picture. But in reality, it's more of a grey color. A great neutral for Fall.

Oh, and of course my favorite purchase!!! Gooseberry Patch's Halloween magazine. It's loaded with tons of fun ideas for Halloween. Not just food people! Decorating ideas. And little gifts too! The price was a little high. But with a nice coupon, I only paid $4!!!

Yes, I've spent the last few days trying new recipes. Dreaming of all the things, I'm going to make this month. Writing out lists of supplies, I'll need. Oh, and enjoying my candy. Seriously people, why can't I find it at other stores? ♥

My Little Secret

Apparently, I've been holding out on you. And you. And you too! I totally forgot to blog about this. And recently, my friend Annie, reminded me of it!

You see, about a year and a half ago, I went to Walgreen's. I went to transfer my Dad's prescriptions there. We were having some issues with the pharmacy, he had been using. While I waited for his prescriptions, I went to look through the makeup. Particularly, the nail polish. Revlon's was on a BOGO. And I had a coupon!!!

Well, I totally got caught up, in searching for other things, and was startled when my name was called. So I quickly picked up 2 nail polish colors. Liked the colors, but didn't notice anything else.

After getting everything home to my parents, I headed to the hotel, where I was staying. Exhausted! I quickly polished my nails, hung my hands over the edge of the bed. And went to sleep.

The next morning, I smelled raspberries. But couldn't figure it out. The color was Raspberry Rapture. I got ready, and as I was putting on my makeup, I smelled it again. That day, I must have asked 10 people, if my nail polish smelled like raspberries.

That night, I polished a second coat. And this guy asked if my nail polish smelled like raspberries. Yes, that's what it was. I LOVED the color, the slight scent, and the price. With my coupon, I actually made $1 on every bottle. Um, I went back, and bought all of them!

I thought I had blogged about these polishes. But when I met Annie recently, I realized I hadn't. I don't even know what we were talking about. Or how we got on the subject, of my nail polish. But I told Annie about my little discovery.

She told me it wasn't on my blog. And we searched and searched. Sure enough, nowhere to be found! So I started writing. And over the next 2 days, I was talking to everyone about these nail polishes. Including my Mom. Who LOVES to do her nails! I'm pretty sure, I just sold Revlon at least 20 bottles!!! Funny how that happens. I guess it's better to share with you all late, than never at all. Now let me think of what else, I've missed telling you about... ♥

Be Our Guest

I have to admit something here. I'm a HUGE "Beauty and the Beast" fan. HUGE!!! It doesn't matter if we're talking Disney, or the Fairy Tale. There's just something about the story, that has always melted my heart. :)

When I was 8 years old, Disney's version was all over town! I was in love! Made this guy's mom, take me 20 or more times, to see the movie. I made my poor parents eat at Pizza Hut every single week. So I'd get the Beauty and the Beast puppets and puzzles.

Heck, when my parents got their cabin, I knew what my room was going to be decorated like. Can you imagine? I had the bedding, dolls, pictures, books, and even a lamp! I was in heaven!!! And over the last 11 years, watched my VHS, until I was sure, you couldn't watch it anymore.

So this year, when it came out in DVD, I snatched 1 up. Actually, My Guy bought me 2, and I had already bought 1. :) Little did I know, Little K, and my cousin J would fall in love too! And since I've been enjoying some good "Family Time" lately, can you imagine what we've been doing?

Well, when I'm home, Little K and I have watched our favorite movie many, many times. Then I found a few toys. Including this one. That I just had to buy!

Oh ya! I did. :) And it's helped host hours, and hours of fun! Then when I headed home to the SW, I bought another. For our home. And when my little cousin J came over, she was in love!!! It didn't hurt, that we had a few goodies from the Disney store too.

Yes, our little tea set, has been one fun toy! Brought me back to being 8 years old. And has helped me, to connect with the "younger" generation. Oh, there may have also been a little library recreating. And maybe, a little dressing up too!

Summer Fun!

Last month, I blogged about "Island Coral." It's such a pretty color! I've actually, absolutely fallen in LOVE with 2 colors, from Sinful Colors. "Island Coral" and "Cinderella."

I've worn "Island Coral" pretty much since I bought it. I LOVE that it's soft. And more on the pink side, than orange. And this week, I'm trying out "Cinderella." It's a beautiful blue/aqua color. Reminds me of the tropical blue oceans. Oh so pretty! With just a hint of sparkle. Not crazy, chunky glitter. Just some sparkle. That catches the light, so softly. Perfect for some Summer fun!

While hunting for a picture of the nail colors, I've come to realize something. I'm not alone. There are tons of women out there, that are in LOVE with these 2 colors! They're not your "typical" bright Summer colors. But not pastels either. Some beautiful mixture of the 2!!!

For me, I was just looking for something fun. A color other than pink. And white. I'm pretty sure, everyone is sick of seeing my nails, painted white. So I picked up 2 colors. Colors that I wouldn't normally wear so much. But I'm so glad that I bought them. :) They've made my Summer, so much more fun and colorful!

I LOVE You Island Coral

Before we left on vacation, I headed to Walgreen's. To pick up a few things, that I thought we'd need. OK, so I didn't NEED a new nail polish. But I bought a few! :)

There's just something about Sinful Colors, that gets me every single time. I picked up 4. It didn't hurt that they were 99 cents! And I only packed 2. Can we say it? I'm in LOVE with "Island Coral."

This color is perfect for the beach. And light skinned gals like me. 2 coats on my toes, and fingers. That was days ago. And it's still going strong. No base coat, no top coat. Just lots of love! It's not too orange. Not too pink. Not too bright. Just perfect for Summer!

Summertime Favorite

I have to put these out there. I'm definitely what you would call a "Girly, Girl." I LOVE makeup, clothes, shoes, jewelry, accessories. All that good stuff. But I've never really felt like I was a gorgeous woman.

Most of this might be, because I cheered when I was younger. And was surrounded by gorgeous girls. My Mom didn't really wear makeup. So I was on my own there. My hair has always been a "Thorn in My Side." That sort of thing.

But as I've gotten older, I've really begun to enjoy these things much more. A lot of this probably has something to do with this lady, and this lady. Oh, and because I've become a performer now. And it's my "job" to dress up, and look nice.

Well, as much as I love all these things, in the "Heat of Summer," I'm not a fan! Not at all! In fact, for the last few weeks, I've been sporting leggings, and some sort of long and flowy tank top. Oh, and those ballet flats. My hair is up and out of my face. Makeup is at a bare minimum.

But I don't think it's a "Bad Thing." Heck no! It leaves more time to enjoy life. And I feel so much "lighter." Heck, I'm pretty sure, my skin and hair are thanking me right now. But the one thing that I've always really gotten into, during the Summer, is nail color!

Yes, it's my one thing. It's definitely a "Summer Thing." I paint my nails 2-3 times a week. I probably buy 4 nail polishes a week! It's so addictive. Because it's my way of adding color, to my outfit. And honestly, painted nails are s cute!

Well, in the Summer I usually gravitate towards 2 colors. White or Essie's Turks & Caicos. I know! But they remind me of Summer. I sport the white for 3 or 4 weeks. Then add that gorgeous turquoise color for a week or so.

Last week, My Bestie needed to make a quick run to the store. She was all out of chocolate! And we all know what happens when Hills doesn't have chocolate! :) So we headed to a local CVS. She went looking for candy, and ice cream. I got caught up by this gorgeous display of L'Oreal nail polish!

And what in the world did I find? Some of the most gorgeous colors! Colors that all the "expensive brands" are carrying right now. I quickly picked 4, got my favorite magazines, and a couple of cards. Yes, I know! But it was some last minute stuff that I needed, before we left on vacation. :)

This gorgeous color is called, "Club Prive." This incredibly creamy, aqua color. Immediately, I was in LOVE!!! When we got back, I realized I'd forgotten Turks & Caicos at home. Good thing I picked this baby up!

2 things you should know. Maybe 3. This color is almost exactly the same as Essie's Turks & Caicos. But it only cost $5! It's very similar to China Glaze's For Audrey. Except For Audrey is a bit more blue. Unless you're like me, you probably wouldn't notice this. Oh, and the consistency of the polish, is AMAZING!!!

So we've been on the water, and the beach, for days now! My nails have been painted since last Friday. No base coat. No top coat. This polish is amazing!!! It might just be my new Summertime favorite! :) I can't wait to get back, to try my other 3 colors!!! ♥

Surviving the Desert Heat

We left "Wine Country" this morning. Headed straight for the desert. And the minute we landed, the heat slapped us in the face. High noon. The desert. The heat. And all I wanted to do, was find the nearest place with AC!!!

It made me think of the ways, I've survived this heat. Next month, it will be 11 years since I moved, to the desert. With no AC. The temps soared above 100. For days and days at a time! Then for the next few years, I've learned how to "Survive Summer in the Desert." Someone was recently asking me, about this...

And since I'm going to be spending a big chunk of time, in the desert this Summer, I needed to revisit my "Survival Guide." These tips, are great for anyone spending time in the sun. And heat. No matter if it's the desert, or the beach. :)

First, up a good lip balm. I've tried a ton! But year after year, I've come back to Blistex Deep Renewal. Not only is this good for Summer, but all year long! It keeps my regularly dry lips, completely moistorized. Plus, it has 15 SPF. Hello?!?!?! Perfect for Summer!!!

Well, I'm pale as can be. If you see me, it's hard to believe that I'm Hispanic. My entire family, is dark. And they get those glorious tans, all Summer long! Me? Not so much! Neutrogena's Healthy Defense has been my BFF for years! Yup, I've tried expensive products. But this little guy, works wonders!!!

Not only do I use this moisturizer for Summer, I use it all year long! All year!!! SPF 50 is my BFF. I'm telling you, this is perfection in a tube. It's light, but provides protection all day. I have oily skin, and have an issue with most moisturizers and sunblocks. But not with Healthy Defense. I LOVE Neutrogena!!!

Like I said, I've got very pale skin. I can go from "Snow White," to "Red Lobster" is 5 minutes! Growing up in the Southwest, was difficult at times. Even in the shade, I'd burn up. Then spend the next week or 2, nursing a horrible sunburn!

Then I found Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer, SPF 100. Every single day, I use this! There is no funky "Sunblock" scent. Just the clean smell of Neutrogena's products. It dries almost immediately. Not leaving any greasy feeling. Perfect!!!

But for those of us, that like to tackle outdoor fun, or even just exercise...Bull Frog Sport is what you NEED! Back in high school, I was a cheerleader. Literally, we lived outdoors almost all year! In the Southwest, that could mean trouble. But when I found this "Bad Boy," I was "Over the Moon!" Because it protects against both UVA and UVB rays. :)

First of all, this sunblock is water and sweat proof. Believe me, I've tested it many times! It should be no shock, that I run a lot. I also enjoy hiking. Since I was 14 years old, I've used this. And every single time that I have, I've NEVER been burnt! EVER!!! Not even, while doing a crazy yard cleaning marathon! It even works on your "Hair Crack." If you've ever braided your hair in the summer, with a part, you know what I mean. To me, that's the worst sunburn you could ever have!!!

Another secret among Southwesterners, is we change up our deordorant. When those HOT months roll around, we pick up a stonger deordorant. After years and years, of trying everything that is sold...Dove's Clinical Protection is my "go-to."

There are a variety of scents. All very light and fresh. This deordorant keeps you fresh and dry. Believe me, when I say this. There are some days, in the SW when you just sit there, and sweat. For no other reason, then it's 105 degrees. And your body is trying to cool down. You sit there, doing NOTHING, but sweating like NUTS! Let me tell you, this works miracles! :)

And we must protect our eyes! Have you ever gotten sunburn in your eyes? I have. And let me tell you, it's PAINFUL!!! Your eyes just hurt. Eyedrops sting. Closing your eyes burns. Having them open, hurts. So go out and buy yourself some good sunglasses. That protect against UVA and UVB rays. That's so important!!! Critical actually.

Honestly, I've found some really good pairs, and stylish, for around $10. But look for the UVA/UVB sticker. You'd be surprised, that some of those really expensive sunglasses, don't have both UVA/UVB protection. Ya, spending $100+ doesn't guarantee good protection. Just be aware. Funny thing is, I've found some adorable, chic, and fun sunglasses at the "Hunting Store." For $5. With UVA/UVB protection. Just look around. I know some of my friends have found them at Target, the Dollar Tree, or even the bookstore. :)

And a big 'ol floppy hat, is your best friend! Whether you're laying out by the pool, tackling your garden, or just relaxing...this is a MUST! It keeps the sun off your delicate skin, cools you down, and adds a little style. I have one, that my Grandma bought me, almost 10 years ago. I wear it all the time. And I think she spent $10 on it. Oh, and I just seen some cute ones, for under $10 at Wal-Mart.

Water, water, and more water. It's beyond essential!!! I prefer cucumber water. I also bring out the lemon, lime, or orange water in the Summer. Just take some fruit, or cucumbers, and thinly slice them up. Add them to a pitcher of water. And enjoy!!! I think people forget to drink lots of water. Honestly, I drink almost 2 gallons of water a day. It's so important to be hydrated!!!

And ice. I can't say enough about this stuff!!! Sometimes, I even make ice out of lemonade. Or throw in some fruit. It adds lots of fun, and flavor, to your favorite drinks. But honestly, at all times,I've got 25+ lbs of ice in my freezer. :)

There you go. A few things that have helped me, to survive the Summer heat! I also do things like sticking my body sprays and Fix+, in the refrigerator. Helps to refresh with something cool, in the middle of the afternoon. I also place a clean pillowcase in the freezer every morning. Then at night, I slip it over my pillow. So nice to lay on something cool, when the temperatures are lucky to dip into the 70s as a low!

If you have any tips, tricks, or favorite Summertime products, I'd LOVE to hear about them. Or even, your favorite Summertime recipes. Heck, anything fun about Summer! I've got a few months of heat ahead. And I need some new things, to help me get through our 100+ temps! ♥

Pearly White

This month alone, I have 3 sets of friends, who are getting married. I've already been in 2 of the weddings. And the third is this weekend. I've also had the honor of Baptising 4 beautiful little girls.

It's definitely been, all about celebrating this month! Which means lots of dressing up. Lots of pictures. Lots of time spent celebrating, and creating memories. :) Which also means, I've needed to put in a little effort, on my appearance.

I went out, and bought a few dresses. Some fun accessories. A few makeup items. Things that just allowed me, to put in a little more effort. Then I remembered, this little miracle product. That I was sent in the mail. A couple of months ago. Something I hadn't tried. But this was definitely the time!

You see, I'm a "tad" bit obsessed with my teeth. I LOVE going to the dentist. I NEVER complained about orthodontist visits. I brush 3 times a day. Use a waterpik daily. Heck, I even floss twice a day! It's nuts. I won't drink anything, without a straw. So when I was sent "Finishing Touch Smile," you would have thought, I would try it immediately.

I don't know why, but it found it's way into my big basket of "tooth stuff." And it quietly sat there. Until earlier this month. When I was packing for the 1st wedding. I'd wanted to mix up my own tooth whitener. But didn't get the chance. So I threw this little pen, into my makeup bag.

The day before the wedding, actually hours before the rehearsal, I pulled out my "Finishing Touch Smile." I quickly drew over my teeth, and then put my makeup on. I was out the door in 5 minutes! By the time I met my friends, my teeth were noticeably whiter. So much so, Selena asked me, when I'd found time to run to the dentist!

No trip to the dentist for me! Just this $10 pen, of tooth whitener. I'm a believer. A strong believer! As in, I'm heading out to Wal-Mart, to pick me up another pen. Because you can buy it in stores, and this is my new miracle product! I don't NEED another pen. But I don't want to find that I NEED this product one day, and I don't have any.

I've received quite a few compliments on my teeth. Since the first part of June, I've only used the product once. And my teeth have stayed incredibly white! This product is not messy, like those other gels. There are no messy strips. Or mouth pieces. Just a bit of drawing.

Another plus, no stinging sensations. I'm going to be honest here. I've NEVER had my teeth whitened at the dentist. I'm too poor for that! I've tried 1 gel whitener, and the strips. HATED them both! I've got incredibly sensitive teeth. So I've stuck to my "natural tooth whitener." Something I mix up at home. But this product, has completely changed my mind!

I'm not being paid for this post. I was just sent the product to try out. To be honest, the company doesn't even know that I have a blog! But I just had to tell you all about it. Because it really impressed me. And at $10, you can't go wrong!

Beautiful Inspiration

I've been "On the Fence" about my home. There is a Realtor, that is very interested in my home. So much so, I'd make a good deal of money, with the sale. As in, more than double what paid for it...11 years ago.

But it's my home. Although, I spend little to no time there. It's my "security blanket." And I'm not totally sure about parting ways. Not just yet. Instead, I'm looking at putting a lot of TLC into my home. Since I decided to spend more time in the Southwest this Summer, I've also decided to tackle some "Home Projects."

First up, is some not so fun stuff. Back in May, I worked for 2 weeks. In music stuff. And added to my "nest egg." Because I've known for a while now, that I NEED a new roof. And let me tell you, they are NOT CHEAP!!! A family friend, owns a roofing business in the area. Their estimate, is between $40,000-50,000. Way too high for me! So I'm still on the search. I also have a pretty urgent plumbing issue to fix. Another $500 project. :( Oh, and a new hot water heater...

Those are 3 HUGE projects. Very costly! But there are also many smaller things, that I can tackle. Can I be honest here? I bought paint almost 18 months ago. And that's one project that I'm ready to tackle. Lots of painting! A little sewing. I NEED some curtains. Oh, and a little yard work. :)

But I'm not disappointed. These are things that NEED to get done. But I'm also looking for some inspiration. Not only is this my first home. But it's definitely a "Girl Home." I've got tons of candles, throw pillows, and fun colors.

With a limited decorating budget, due to the important work that needs to be done, I've gone to Pinterest for a little inspiration. Oh, and let me tell you, I'm not disappointed! Just wondering, how much I can get done in 2 months. Just look at this dining room!!!

I'm in LOVE!!! Those flowers, are AMAZING! I'm thinking, they'd be fun in my office. Which is already a fun space. That inspires me every single day. And the crisp white room, WOW! I want a similar looking room. Not for a dining room. Maybe a laundry room. Or guest room.

If you have any ideas, or inspiration, please let me know! Although I'm working on a few different projects, working on my home, is ALWAYS my favorite. Because it's my space. I don't have to think about what someone else likes. Just what I enjoy. Not in a spoiled brat, sort of way. But in the sense, that I won't always have this space. That is just mine. And I want to enjoy it. I want to enjoy my dark purple bedroom, my chandeliers, and all the "girly" touches. ♥

Roasted Walnut & Pear Salad

I don't even know where to begin. Life has been so crazy! And I'm just ready, to stop. But the month of June, is just nuts for me! The "Bridal Tea" that was planned earlier this week, was moved. And the Baptismo, this weekend, was changed. I'm still feeling a total sense of loss. And very unmotivated.

But I must power through. I know. It's hard to move forward. Especially this soon after, a great loss. But I'm moving. And I'm trying to get plans together, for Dawn's party. Tomorrow. Everything I had previously planned, went out the window Monday. Sorry Dawn!

Instead, I've decided on an afternoon get together. Just us gals still. But days later. With much simpler food. To compensate, we're going to have a "jewelry making" afternoon. This guy, just amazes me! He bought us tons and tons of stuff, from Tori Spellings new line. :)

And I've been putting together lots of easy, but tasty recipes. Essentially, I'm going to have about 2 hours, to get it together. :) This week's Gooseberry Patch Recipe of the Week, just seems so perfect! Light, easy, and tasty.

Roasted Walnut & Pear Salad

1 head romaine lettuce, torn
2 c. pears, thinly sliced
2 Roma tomatoes, chopped
1 c. walnuts
2 T. butter
1/4 c. brown sugar, packed
4-oz. pkg. crumbled blue cheese
8-oz. bottle raspberry white wine vinegar salad dressing

Place lettuce in a large serving bowl; lay pears on top and add tomatoes. In a medium skillet, roast walnuts in butter until golden; add brown sugar and stir over low heat until walnuts are hardened with glaze. Add walnuts to salads, sprinkle on blue cheese and toss with vinegar dressing. Makes 6 to 8 servings.

Doesn't this sound AMAZING? Honestly, I'm looking forward to hanging out with my gal pals. I NEED to just relax. And enjoy life a little. Today was such a tough one. I can't even describe to you, the crazy amount of emotions, that were going on. Saying goodbye to my SIL, was like saying goodbye to my sister. ♥

Oh Dresses!!!

I took to Pinterest lately. For a little inspiration. The month of June, is extra crazy for me this year. 3 weddings, 2 baptismos, and many graduations. Oh boy! So I've been hunting around, for some cute looks. What do you think of these?

A really good friend, is throwing a rather "fancy" party for his daughter. Who is graduated this year. It's at night, and like I said, totally "fancy." I think a dress like this would be fun. And doable. In this desert heat. Sorry people, I'm not wearing any kind of floor length dress, in triple digit weather!

This fun frock, would be perfect for a Bridal Shower. Or a Rehearsal Dinner. I just adore all those cutouts! And the length, is perfect. If only I knew, where this dress was from...

And this cute dress, well it will be perfect for any sort of BBQ, or even one of the Baptismo parties. It's fun and light. And would be perfect for church, with a little cardigan. :)

I've been on a bit of a "Shopping Diet." For the last 2 months, I really haven't bought anything. But it's kind of necessary right now. Have you seen any cute dresses lately? At what stores? I'm having a bit of a problem, actually finding a dress to buy. And a need a couple for all these celebrations. ♥

Makeup for a Cause

Not long ago, I found this company on twitter. Actually, they found me. But as I started reading about the company, I was really impressed! Makeup for a worthy cause.

Do you ever find yourself buying makeup, and wondering about making a difference? A few years ago, my eyes were opened up. As I moved closer to the border, I realized just how much violence is in the world. As I entered the medical profession, it became even clearer.

A few years ago, MAC started a controversy with one of their "Limited Edition" lines. They made a donation to the cause. But it wasn't anything like Radiant Cosmetics. Who really are using their company, to make a difference in the world. And in women's lives.

The mission of Radiant Cosmetics, is to make people aware of Human Trafficking. And all the violence that comes along with it. Every Radiant Cosmetics purchase, helps to support this cause. And helps in the fight against Human Trafficking.

This company really touched me. It really hit home for me. I've already purchased some items from Radiant Cosmetics. Not only are they supporting a GREAT cause. But their makeup is pretty amazing too! Give Radiant Cosmetics a try. You'll be helping out women, who don't have a voice. And who NEED our help!

Worth a Try

I don't know about you, but when I find a favorite mascara, it's hard for me to try another. Really, it is! I'm sure, by now you know this is my favorite. But recently, I was sent Rimmel's Lash Accelerator to try out!

Now I'll be honest with you, I'm picky as can be, when it comes to mascara. I can't help myself. It's my favorite makeup product. And I keep many of these on hand. But I like to try out other mascaras. Being that, the only way I get my favorite, is to do a swap with someone in the UK.

Back to Rimmel's Lash Accelerator. I don't need a lengthening mascara. I have pretty long eyelashes already. But this is exactly what this mascara is. A lengthening mascara. And for someone who already has long lashes, this little tube still performed some miracles. :)

My lashes already hit my eyelids. Even when I don't curl them. But after a month of using this mascara, I noticed my lashes extend even further! I was impressed. The mascara also held a curl well. Which in my book, is really important. You don't want droopy eyelashes by lunchtime. And I don't want to be bringing along all sorts or tools and products, to touch up with.

But there are some negatives, to this mascara. First, I was missing the volume. That is one of the things, that I just have to have from a mascara. For me volume is HUGE! Secondly, I have oily skin. By lunchtime, I noticed the beginnings of "Raccoon Eyes." Ugh! I've had other friends, with "normal skin" who LOVED this product. And had no smudging. So keep that in mind.

On a more positive note, this is a very reasonably priced product. I noticed earlier this week, at Walgreen's, that it was on sale for $4 a tube. A GREAT price! Even to just try it out. I encourage that. Really I do! Every product works very differently, for everyone. But this mascara, is definitely worth a try. ♥
