This has been such a busy weekend. Good and bad. We've enjoyed lots of "Q-Time" with our friends. But then there was some tragedy near us. We're all praying for the family. And the families of the Empire State Building shooting. Wow! It's just been so up and down lately.
It makes what this man does for a living, seem a little...well "unimportant" this morning. His words, not mine. When you see the "Real World" crashing down around you, sometimes it just makes you think. But we're trying to get our heads on straight.
This guy has to work tonight. Not tomorrow. Like during a "usual week." It kind of throws off our schedule. But that means we have tomorrow off. And what are we going to do? Have a "Date Day," in Tennessee. Should be fun!
Until then, this guy is clowning around. We're watching Baby C this morning. As her momma, isn't feeling well. And well, this Nono is having a blast! Singing this song to her...
And she just thinks it's that best thing ever! I've got to admit, it's fun to watch him sing and dance around. With not a care in the world! Because tonight, he will be very serious, at work. And I'll probably be having a blast with Baby C. Maybe we might get a little nap in too!
But more than anything, today is about counting our blessings. With all these tragedies that are happening, and knowing that my own grandma is experiencing some health issues, we must count our blessings. Our family could really use your prayers right now.
God is GREAT! We just need to believe in him. And remember he is here, to help us carry our hardships. Happy Saturday! ♥
It's been a tough month. Tough couple of months, for ya Doll Face. It pains me, that I can't fix these things for ya. As much as ya do for me. I wish I could do more for ya. Take some of the pain away for ya.
There's something that I do know. Since I met ya, my life has been better. For many reasons. Mostly cause ya love me. Nothing more. Just cause ya love me.
I know that ya work hard to provide us with a comfortable home. A welcoming home. Full of love. Making my life easier. It hasn't gone unnoticed. Believe me. This month is one full of traveling for both of us. But know this, whenever we are apart, you are all that is on my mind. When we are together, I can't get enough of ya. Love ya Doll Face! You are my entire world. I wouldn't want it any other way. Your Guy
We've been here since Thursday. Soaking up all the sun. Even with jam packed work schedules. And since Thursday, My Guy has been singing this song!
We didn't drive. I sorta wanted to. Call me crazy! But it's not that far, from my home state. We'd only be driving through a handful of states. But we flew. Which in the end, was a good idea. Because it gave us more time, to just enjoy our surroundings. And each other.
Today, My Guy is working. I'm hanging out with My Bestie. And Baby C. It should be a nice day. Of fun. And of course some sun! Well, if the rain stays away. :) Anyway that you spin it, we're going to have a good day.
This week, has been such a busy one. One that sorta stressed me out. Even with my birthday, I haven't had much down time. Oh yeah, I'm looking forward to a little down time this week. It's just been so crazy!
Most of all, I've just enjoyed being out here. Spending time with friends. Enjoying this beautiful state. Everything that nature has to offer. With all the traveling that we do, we honestly don't get out to the West Coast much. So I'm definitely going to enjoy today! ♥
Happy Birthday my sweet Doll Face! What a special woman you are. My life started when I met ya. Not before that. You bring life, into everything that ya do. I'm just lucky, that you've picked me. To share in your life.
Doll Face, I'm sure that I don't tell ya enough. But I want for you to know this. I love ya. You are my world. The reason why I push forward. You've made me a better man. The woman that you are, inspires me to be a better man.
"Every little kiss, is drivin' me wild." Simply that's what ya do to me. In all the good ways, that only you can do. This is love. True love. I value it. More than any words can say.
The world is a better place. Because you are in it. My life, has never been better. Because you are sharing your life, with me. "Yeah, I'm a little drunk on you!" My only hope, is that I can make you as happy, as ya make me. Happy Birthday Love! Your Guy
This week, we're in a beautiful place. The hills of the "Big Bend State." Oh yes, it's beautiful! We spent lots of time, just enjoying the area. Amazing vintage shopping! My Bestie and I, took a long stroll, with Baby C. Just enjoying the beauty, of this space. This my friends, is one of my favorite places to visit!
But now, it's work time, for My Guy. And honestly, I'm pretty excited. I myself, will be studying. But it's not so bad! I have a HUGE exam tomorrow. And a lot on schedule this week. Medical Conferences, Clinicals, and did I mention the traveling?
So I'm going to leave you with a song, that this Mr. is currently grooving on. He's having some issues, with a friend or two. I think this song, just tells it, like he feels it. "Be yourself, by yourself, stay away from me."
In the meantime, I'm going to grab some lunch. And my favorite pillow. Probably change into a comfy sweatsuit. And crack open the books. It feels good, to get to study, such life changing things.
Have a great week friends! Most of my posts this week, will be scheduled. But I will "pop in" from time to time. Happy Sunday! ♥
Doll Face I think about this song, every time we come out here. Vegas right? Drive-thru weddings. Why wait? If we were any other couple, we'd have sealed the deal, years ago. But we're us. No tin a hurry. Living life on our terms.
Gorgeous lady, just so ya know, I love ya. Don't ever doubt that. Whether it's on a piece of paper or not. Know that we've got a lifetime together. When your ready, Pretty Lady, so am I! Vegas or not. Your Guy
My buddies and I were shooting the....well ya know. It got me thinking. Just how lucky I am. To have found, a woman like ya. Doll Face, my life has never been the same. Not since the day, I first laid eyes on ya. I hope ya know that. From that day forward, you've had all my attention. My love. Everything I got.
I don't always say things. Heck, I don't always know what to say. But know this. You're my whole world. Ya make life better. Just bein' ya. I couldn't ask for more. There is nothing more. Not when you're around. 'Cause honestly, I don't know what I'd do. If I'd never met a woman like you. Your Guy
Doll Face, that time has come again. The year is pickin' up. Work is in high gear. Lady it gonna get crazy! Then I think of ya. How calm you are. How ya never waiver. I know that I'm not the easiest guy, to deal with. At times, I can be Oscar the Grouch.
Know that I don't take you for granted. That I know, things are not always good. I'm Mr. Grouch. Probably annoying as hell. But you make life better. Bearable. Worth livin.' I appreciate it all!
It's Valentine's Day. Like usual, my mind is on work. We're out here. For my career. Don't think, that I overlook that. I don't. I know the sacrifices ya make. That you go over and beyond, for me.
I don't think, ya realize just what your smile means to me. How in a single instant, ya erase all the crap in the world. Ya make me feel,, like a good man. Even when I know, I've fallen short.
Lady, you are my world. My entire world. The things ya do for me. For my family. Don't go unnoticed. Not once. I see those things. I value those things. Taking care of me, my family, my friends, my co-workers. It means a heck of a lot!
When life isn't going well, all I need is you. A gentle touch. Soft words. A simple smile. Good laughs. Just the two of us.
I'm the typical man. Don't know how to tell ya, what I want to tell ya. I don't know how to plan the best Valentine's Day. But I know this. I love ya. With everything I got. I know that. I couldn't have gotten through so much crap, if I hadn't had you. Right here. At my side. Love ya! Baby Girl, you're my better half. I wouldn't want it any other way. Happy Valentine's Day! Your Guy
I don't always tell my Doll Face, just what she means to me. I regret this. She's a damn great woman! I know this first hand. I'm very lucky. I know her love, first hand. It's something that I don't ever want to be without. Life before my Doll Face, just wasn't worth the effort.
We're apart for a few days. That makes these days less exciting. Have less meaning. Dang it, they just aren't the same. But I want my Doll Face to know, I'm all in. I'm proud to say those words. My Lady Love is worth that. And so much more!
Love ya Doll Face! Counting down the days, until you're back in my arms. Laughing at our silly fur babies. Smelling so sweet. Just being you. I'm all in. Love is what I see, when I see you. Your Guy
Our family, is having a Family Reunion today. And I'm being optimistic. You know, praying for the best. Not thinking about the worst. The tough part, about being from such a large family is...definitely all the drama. But you learn how to deal with it. And hope that it works itself out.
Today, I'm looking forward to some fun. Catching up with lots of people, that I haven't seen in FOREVER! And honestly, just enjoying the day. I don't get to come home often, and I rarely ever see my family. Other than my parents. So I honestly look forward to days like this. You know what I mean?
I also don't want to miss out on some of my family. The elders who are struggling. And I'm sure, have limited time with us. I look forward to chatting with them. Letting them know how special they are. And just how much, they mean to me. More than anything, I look forward to a good time with my familia! Happy Sunday! ♥
Yes, I get to see Martina McBride perform today. And I'm super excited! I've been a Country Music fan forever! And I've been a fan of Martina's for years. This is going to be a great day. It doesn't hurt that My Guy's family is also out here with us. To enjoy all the fun we're having. Oh, I just can't wait! This afternoon/evening seems like years away. What am I going to do until then? ♥
I get to go see this guy perform today! I'm super excited! Dierks is one of my favorite musicians/singers. And a bunch of my good friends are out here this weekend. This is going to be so much fun! Now if I could only contain my excitement. We have a few hours until the show. What to do? What is a girl to do??? ♥
Yes, God Bless Texas! It could easily be said, if My Guy didn't have to live, in the Southeast for work, we'd probably live in Texas. Not here in the Dallas area. But somewhere off on a Ranch. Because that's what we enjoy. Nature. In all her beauty! :)
But you can't go wrong working here. At least 2 weeks at of the year, we somehow line up our schedules, and work here. In the Lonestar State. It's beautiful. The way of life, is amazing. Easy going, hard working, enjoying everything life has to offer. Just what we like!
Most of all, this week, is about enjoying our friends. Because of our crazy schedules, we rarely get to spend time with our friends. But this is one of those weeks, when we simply make time. And lots of it. Without good friends, well life isn't so fun.
The early part of our week, was dedicated to work. Working really hard and long hours. But also, spending time with my friends, in the evenings. Later this week, will be all about spending time with My Guy's friends. And his crazy long work hours. But it's the fun that gets us through these "tough schedules."
Sometimes you just have to remember the simplicity in life. The things that matter most. And somehow, "magic" just happens in Texas. We can't explain it. It just happens. You laugh bigger, eat more, and just breath better. We're so happy, to be in this wonderful state all week. God Bless Texas! ♥
Since when is California this grey and gloomy? I'm not sure. But it's not been great weather. Not this morning anyway.
The weather is really just bringing down my mood too. I know, I had a "melt down" last night. Maybe I could tell the weather was changing. I'm not sure. But I'm not feeling this. I feel like there is something bad, just lurking around the corner. I can't put my finger on it. I just know.
I hate this feeling. I usually really like rainy weather. It's my favorite! And California. Well, I'm not a HUGE fan. But I do enjoy coming. It's the only time I really let myself shop. Good vintage shopping out here. But I'm just not feeling it.
My Guy has been amazing. Poor thing. After working yesterday, he came back, to find me curled in a ball...crying. Go figure. But he picked me up. Cuddled me. And let me be. He knew that I just needed it. I've been carrying a lot lately. My Guy was perfect. Just let me cry it out. Then let me talk it out. For hours. Really listening to everything that has been bothering me.
I needed that. So maybe there is a point to this "Gloomy Mood" that I'm in. I've been dealing with a lot. You know, since September. And I just hadn't let it go. This could be a good thing. For now, I'm going to curl up with some hot tea. And pray that My Guy doesn't have to work all day in this rain. Maybe I'll watch a good movie. Or read a good book. Happy Friday! ♥
For so many reasons, this song sums up our day. But in a good way. You know, we all need that little kick in the butt sometimes. When we "see the light." And realize that something wasn't right. Maybe we were lying to ourselves. Just going through the motions. And just trying to survive.
Funny how My Guy and I have the most incredible relationship. Everything on the "Love Front" of our lives couldn't be any better. But the other stuff, it's been tough lately. Work. Family. Life. Careers. Just life.
For so many reasons this song, is just way too perfect! And guess what? We made it to my "home state." And we've planned a "low key week." Before heading to California. Neither of us would change anything in our life. But it's nice to get to just clear our minds for a bit. It's exactly what we need. ♥
This song was written for me and Miss Lola. Simple. True. It was written for us. Tells our story. I'm completely cool with that. It's exactly how I want it. My Doll Face runs our home. Hell, I don't just like it like that, I enjoy our life as is. Just like the song says, "She wears the pants." I'm cool with it.
At the end of the day, she still likes to be a woman. Miss Lola also likes for me to be the man. The protector and provider. The man. We've got a great balance going on. Perfect for the two of us. Just as long as she continues to "Let me take them off her." ;-)
Enjoy the song. It's fun. Just like my Doll Face. I'm going to go find my love, and take a spin with her. Before she has to perform tonight. We're going to dance. To this song. Right now. I reckon my friends are jealous. Hell, I don't care. We're going to go have some fun. Ya know, we're in Sin City! Time to have some fun! Doll Face I love ya. Your Guy
In case you don't know it, I love My Guy! Full heartily love this man! Yes, the one that is fast asleep right here. Face palm, hair sticking up, curled up in the blankets. I LOVE HIM! And just getting to see him, that just made my entire week! Have I mentioned just how much I've missed him?
Lately, things have been nuts! Honest to goodness...life has just been crazy. My Dad being this sick, has really thrown us all for a loop. Who would have thought he would spend days in the ICU. Especially for Christmas? Christmas was celebrated sometime between Christmas and New Year's Day. Yes, it took us days to get through our few gifts, that we bought and wrapped. You know, since we spent all our prime shopping days in the hospital. We were all that wiped out...
But then, you have me and My Guy. Our plans were just murdered. Seriously. He snuck around the hospital. You know, so I could cry on his shoulder. And he could hold me, and tell me that everything was going to be OK. You know, between praying for my Dad, talking to friends and family, and making sure my Mom was OK. Did I mention? I don't think I've slept more than 4 hours at a time, in well over a month. So to say, that we've totally skipped out on life and the holidays...well that is a HUGE understatement.
But then, My Guy is pretty incredible. And super understanding. He totally gets that I need to be with my family right now. And that our pile of gifts could wait until...well I don't know when. My Guy also understood, that this was not the time, to meet my entire family. Nor my Dad.
Fast forward a bit. This weekend. It had been circled on the calendar for a while. No. Not because, it is officially the first day he had off, since going back to work. Nope. His sister is getting married. As in later today!!! :)
I worked out some minor details with my Mom. Told my Dad that I had a "work thing" that I couldn't miss. And I caught a flight out east. Yesterday, I felt like a 5 year old on Christmas morning. Just waiting, to see the man I love. Yes. I was that lady! :)
And he didn't disappoint. No way Jose! We managed some quiet time. You know, between all the wedding stuff, and family stuff. And we just hung out. Caught up on life. To be honest, I just wanted to cuddle. To be safe in this man's arms once again. It was definitely the way to spend our night.
This song, it just reminds me of My Guy. This amazing man that I love. And that loves me with all his heart. I know this. Not just because he tells me all the time. But because he shows me all the time. I'm truly blessed. Even if, we just have this weekend to spend together...
It's been a tough month for my family. For me. And for our relationship. But there is always so much love, between My Guy and I. It doesn't matter if there are a billion miles between us. We know we have each other.
I feel like nothing, could ever, go really wrong. As long as My Guy is standing right beside me. He makes life amazing. And so fun! If I haven't already said this a million times, I'm a very lucky woman. Just to know that there is a human being, that loves me this much. So much, that I see it in his eyes, every time that he looks at me. I feel it in his arms, every single time he holds me. And it's in his voice, every single, solitary time that we talk. I just know that he loves me. And that folks, is what helps me through all the tough days. The Big C, Dad's health emergency, life...he's just got this way about life, that let's me know, just how much he loves me. At the end of the day, I can't ask for anything more. ♥
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite Christmas songs. It might be because I like Owl City. Or that I'm really in the holiday spirit at the moment. But this is such a great song.
I feel like I NEED to go home immediately. We haven't decorated for Christmas. We haven't really done much shopping. I still need to bake. And time is just flying by. Maybe that's why I'm enjoying the Christmas music so much this year. It's the only real holiday thing I can control.
So how are your holiday plans coming along? Are you ready for the big day? You know, it's 13 days away! I'm really starting to stress out a bit...♥
This song happens to remind me of My Guy. Before we "officially" started dating, we'd talk on the phone all the time. I'm going to confess here, we'd talk for hours at a time. :) And he'd always end the conversation with, "If I fall, will ya let me down easy?"
As time past, I learned that he "fell" pretty early on. As in the night we first met. And he wanted to ask me out. But he knew I was dating someone else. So he just waited. And waited. Like a good southern gentleman.
I know, it's only been 2 days, since I last seen him. But I miss My Guy. Every single time, I hear this song, it makes me think of him. And I can't wait, to get back to him. Yes, I'm admitting that here. So instead of him being the vulnerable one, I'm now that vulnerable person. But I wouldn't want it any other way. Now if I could just get this airplane to take off. I'd be one happy lady. ♥
With Marie's wedding being tomorrow, and me missing My Guy, this song came to mind. I'm in no rush to get married. Believe me! But one day, I want to be able to tell my Mom, that my groom is perfect. He won't hurt me. But he'll love me.
I know that my Mom wants me to be married. To have many, many children. To live a very happy life. But she's more than OK, with me just being happy right now. Because she knows that she has taught me right. She has taught me all of the things in life that matter.
My Mom has never met My Guy. Not face to face. But they've talked over the phone, and online. She loves him. She knows that he's a good man. A man that will never hurt me. But one that loves me, and brings comfort to my life. My Mom knows this. Because she taught me to find a good man.
And one day, Mom, I promise, your little girl will make it official. You and Dad will be there. And I know that I will be so lucky. Because I've found an amazing man to share my life with. The man that God created just for me. My Guy is amazing. He does so much to make my life good. Mom, don't you worry. I've found the man for me. ♥
I am a college student. I study pre-med and human nutrition. I work an average of 100 hours a week as an intern. And to pay for all of this, I am a performer. I play and sing in a band. And I perform with a group of ladies. I work hard, so that I can play harder! :)
