So Fun!!!

I was doing a little research for some babies. Some beautiful baby girls. And I happened upon one of the cutest Etsy shops ever! Full of adorable accessories for baby girls. Sweet head pieces, that make me want a baby of my own!

I don't know what's cuter. The headband, the ruffle dress, or the baby! This would be so perfect for Miss Savannah Belle! I can't even begin to tell you, just how perfect it would be. This Nana just might have to order this! :)

"Hold the Phone!" I can't get over how cute this hat is. With the little veil. And all those flowers and feathers. Let's not forget that adorable little dress!

Lastly, I can't say enough about this whole ensemble! Totally reminds me of Baby Jelly. But the colors also remind of Gabi. Oh my goodness! This is so cute!

I want to order one of everything, from Miss Ruby Sue! And these adorable dresses, I want to make one in every color!!! I wonder how quickly My Guy and I, can make a couple of baby girls! :) Just kidding. But really, I might have to start ordering from this shop. For my Goddaughters!!!

If Only...

Wouldn't it be wonderful to win the lottery? There are so many things, I'd do with that money. First off, I'd donate half of it, to a Children's Hospital. Then I'd finish school. Buy my brother and his wife, a new home. Help my parents with their business. Fix my home. Things like that. Maybe just maybe, I'd also like a new car. :)

I suppose, it doesn't hurt to dream. Someone has to win the jackpot! I've gotten my share of the tickets. And have my fingers crossed. You just never know, what might happen. And well, maybe something good will come out of the money I just spent!

Mrs. Palmer's Fried Chicken

I have to say this much, My Guy is AMAZING!!! It's been a tough couple of days. If we're friends on Facebook, then you know why. And right now, that's all I'm going to say. I'm just not ready, to talk about it.

But back to this guy. He wanted to make me feel better. And he knows, that I REALLY LOVE fried chicken. But like me, he just doesn't attempt to make it. Not with his Grandma. Who makes the "World's Best Fried Chicken!" When we want fried chicken, we usually go to her.

This week, were still on the "road." Far from home. And I've been in a funk! A big one! So this guy, got the idea to make me, some fried chicken. He went to Google for a little help. And that sent him right to Gooseberry Patch. And this week's Recipe of the Week!

Mrs. Palmer's Fried Chicken

4 to 5 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 qt. buttermilk
salt and pepper to taste
2 c. self-rising flour
2 t. garlic powder
2 t. dried parsley
2 t. dried thyme
2 t. poultry seasoning
1 t. dried rosemary
1 t. pepper
1 qt. oil
Garnish: chicken gravy or sweet-and-sour sauce

Cut chicken into strips, approximately 3 per breast. Place chicken in a large plastic zipping bag; pour buttermilk over chicken. Seal bag and chill for 2 to 3 hours. Drain chicken, discarding buttermilk; season chicken with salt and pepper. In a separate plastic zipping bag, combine flour and seasonings; seal bag and shake to mix well. Add chicken to bag, a few strips at a time; coat thoroughly. Heat oil to 350 degrees in an electric skillet. Carefully place chicken into hot oil; cook until both sides are golden. Drain on paper towels. Serve with chicken gravy or sweet-and-sour sauce. Serves 4.

And that is the yumminess, that My Guy made me. With the best mashed potatoes. And corn on the cob. Heck, he even managed a peach cobbler, with vanilla ice cream! Carb Heaven I tell you! It was the best thing, to drown out my sorrows. This is definitely a meal, that we're going to come back to. Many times!!!

It's these tough times, that remind me, he's perfect! Takes care of me, when I need it most. Whether it's listening to long stories about my childhood, traveling home with me, or cooking for me...he does it. No questions asked! My Guy even ordered this cookbook for me. Thank You My Love!!!

Happy Birthday Sister!

Today is my sister's birthday! I'll never forget this day. Because our birthdays are so close together. And for so long, we were very close! Recently, we've started talking again. We've even made plans, to meet for dinner. To catch up. And to celebrate our birthdays. I hope she has an amazing day! I love her so much. And I've missed the last 11 years, of just enjoying each others company. ♥

Please Support Purple Day

Today is Purple Day. And I ask, that you wear something purple today. It doesn't matter what it is. A purple top. A pair of purple pumps. Heck. some purple jewelry, would be nice.

And why am I asking you, to do this? It's to help support Epilepsy Awareness. I know, Epilepsy Awareness Month is November. But today is Purple Day.

I'm VERY PASSIONATE about this! Because my Dad has epilepsy. He was not born with it. Actually, it was the result of an accident. I've ALWAYS known my Dad, with epilepsy. As a small child, I learned how to take care of him. Epilepsy has always been a big part of my life. And I'm very hopeful, that in my lifetime, a cure will be found. So let's wear some purple today! ♥

Easy Baby Afghan

If you haven't noticed, I've been in "Crochet Overload," lately. This is mostly because, so many babies are being born! I've fallen slightly behind, in some projects. And orders, are really starting to stack up.

But, I'm always looking for new patterns. Such as this beauty! From Anneliese. Who is currently, in the middle, of a series called, "Head-Over-Heels in Crochet." A GREAT series to check out! But this blanket reminds me a lot, of a blanket that I already make. The blanket that I'm used to, is from an old crochet book. Very similar. But with fringe.

I do have to admit this, I'm suddenly inspired. I want to make this blanket. In these colors. Doesn't it look beautiful? Oh I think so! And from experience, I know this type of blanket, works up quickly. Maybe, I can make one, before Rachael has my new Goddaughter! ♥

Happy Birthday Savannah!

Dear Savannah,

Happy Birthday sweet girl! Just a few minutes ago, you were born. The most precious little gift, straight from God. An answer to your Mommy's prayers! Already loved so much!

Your Nono and I, are so excited. Over the moon! I do believe, I just heard him say, this was the greatest day of his life! :) Yes, you are one baby girl, that we've all been waiting for. Praying for. And right now, we've given you and your Mommy and Daddy, some much needed "bonding time." We know that you, as a family, need this time!

Today is your day. I'm sure your big brothers, are going to be so excited! They're at home sleeping. Waiting to hear, about their new baby sister! From this day forward, I know a solid group of people, already love you so! Happy Birthday! I can't wait, to see what life has in store for you!

Love,
Your Nana♥

To the Sound of Our Heartbeats

We've been here since Thursday. Soaking up all the sun. Even with jam packed work schedules. And since Thursday, My Guy has been singing this song!

We didn't drive. I sorta wanted to. Call me crazy! But it's not that far, from my home state. We'd only be driving through a handful of states. But we flew. Which in the end, was a good idea. Because it gave us more time, to just enjoy our surroundings. And each other.

Today, My Guy is working. I'm hanging out with My Bestie. And Baby C. It should be a nice day. Of fun. And of course some sun! Well, if the rain stays away. :) Anyway that you spin it, we're going to have a good day.

This week, has been such a busy one. One that sorta stressed me out. Even with my birthday, I haven't had much down time. Oh yeah, I'm looking forward to a little down time this week. It's just been so crazy!

Most of all, I've just enjoyed being out here. Spending time with friends. Enjoying this beautiful state. Everything that nature has to offer. With all the traveling that we do, we honestly don't get out to the West Coast much. So I'm definitely going to enjoy today!

Crochet Along: Week 5

This week is exciting! We're beginning Week 5, of our Crochet Along. And at the end of this week, we'll be done with the basic pattern. The only thing left, will be the edging!

Our goal for this week is, rows 67-87. The same "Bunny Block," as Week 3. This is really exciting! Now I'm anxious, to finish up my blankets. :)

I have to confess, I'm a little behind this week. Work has been extra crazy. So today, I'll be taking a lot of time to crochet. :) My goal for the day, is rows 50-67. See, I told you, I fell behind. But I'm sure, that this week, will be much better! How are your blankets going? ♥

Kitchen Inspired

One thing that I didn't mention, this week, My Guy bought a house. About 5 miles, from where my home is. For a lot of reasons, this is a logical move. Mostly because, when we're in the Southwest, nine times out of ten, we stop there. And well, my home, is in much need of some major TLC.

Honestly, I haven't really lived in my home, for a few years. It's just not a friendly environment, with my health issues. So this, is a good move. An unexpected one. But a good one. :)

We signed papers earlier this week. A nice place. On a lot of property. Again, this is beneficial for this man. Who honestly, enjoys his privacy. Being a "public figure," privacy is a tough thing, to get. So the fact that he buys properties, that are a little secluded, isn't a new thing.

Well, now I have 2 houses, to turn into homes. And I'm needing some major inspiration! Honestly, this new home, is something that we'd talked about, for almost 4 years! Yes, it was a long time coming. We'd seen many, many homes. Thought about a lot. And in the end, we bought an old "farm." Now, we're having a new home built on it. But keeping the old one. Maybe one day, we'll update it. So we can have family and friends, stay over too!

Back to my inspiration. I'm not a fan of the "traditional southwest" decor. Not at all! We're more of an "eclectic" couple. We like streamlined, furniture. Something timeless. With lots of fun accessories. Vintage touches.

First up, on our list, is a kitchen. Mostly, because I LOVE to cook. And My Guy, LOVES to eat. I also feel like, this room, will set the "mood" for the rest of the home. Here are a few bits of inspiration...

I really like the "feel" of this space. The openness of the room. All the windows. But I think it's because we're in the "Golden State." And everything here, is so open. In the Southwest, I'm fearing the sun a bit. It can be brutal. So I don't think, this will necessarily work.

Keeping with the "light and airy" feel, I really like this kitchen. But it also seems, a little too "busy and feminine," for our taste. What I do enjoy, is the color palette, the rustic floor, the big windows, open cabinetry, and the "eclectic feel."

This space is so fun! The mix of textures, is what catches my eye here. I like the idea of mixing new, and old furnishings. And the fun rug!

How about this kitchen? Something is just so fun about it! The color, the "eclectic" feel, and the use of vintage pieces. It's just unexpected. As much as I like this space, I just don't think this will work. Because we need some modern appliances, and such.

Honestly, this was the kitchen, that caught our eye. Something really fun! But sophisticated. It's inviting. Yet, a little quirky. And I LOVE the mix of colors. :)

We like that the "bones" of the kitchen, are modern. The cabinetry is classic. And we're leaning towards high grade, stainless steal appliances. But the accessories are fun, whimsical, and "eclectic." That's where the personality of this kitchen, comes from.

My Guy, really LOVES this table and chairs. I'm a HUGE fan of that rug. Both are items, that our grandmas, once owned. Things that we grew up with. :) And honestly, we're going to include them. So I guess, the "hunting" begins. And so do our plans. Oh, this is going to be fun!

Hair Inspiration

I can't lie here. I've been in a bit of a "Hair Funk" lately. Either, I straighten my hair, and wear it down. Maybe throw it in a messy ponytail at work. Or I wear it, totally natural at home. All crazy curly, with a touch of product, to hold the curl. If I wear my hair this way, I generally, clip it up.

Honestly, I wish that Manders was around. All the time! To do my hair. She always has some amazing hairstyle. Something simple, but with tons of impact! Oh, if I just had her skills. Then maybe, I'd do things like this...

Yes, I've been inspired! I want to wear braids. Back in high school, I adored braids! Wore french braids, instead of ponytails. When I was a cheerleader. Not the usual kind. But 2 braids, that lead into one. Oh, I miss my braids! The top middle picture, is my inspiration. For tomorrow. When I hangout with My Bestie. Then we meet My Guy, and this guy, for dinner. Yes, I might just put a little effort, into my mile long hair! ♥

Love It!

"I'll never grow old, if I keep on rolling with the flow." ~Unknown

I'm someone, that LOVES quotes. And poetry. I'm ALWAYS looking for inspirational words. And pictures. Anything, that makes my heart and soul, grow more.

That quote, is something, that really touches my soul. It's true. I know this, from my own grandpa. Who is nearly 99 years old, that age is just a number. I've also learned that, from this guy. It's truly one of the reasons, that I love him so much! :)

I'm someone, who has ALWAYS felt like, I was an "Old Soul." But with a kid's heart. Do you understand that? That age never mattered. Well, if you've read about my dating history, you'll definitely see that. I've always dated an older man. Not an old man, but someone older than me. Because it's not about their age, yet about our similarities. Our chemistry. And our relationship.

This picture, reminds me a lot, about this post. About taking that leap. And going after, what I want. And not waiting anymore. Because I'm someone, who seriously over thinks and over plans everything!

I LOVE to be inspired! LOVE IT!!! Do you have a book I should read? Pictures I should look at. Quotes that you love. Shops that you enjoy. Anything inspirational? Please leave me a comment with your inspiration. Or send me an e-mail at SweetNightingaleSing (at) gmail (dot) com. I'd LOVE to see, what inspired you!

Happy Birthday Doll Face!

Happy Birthday my sweet Doll Face! What a special woman you are. My life started when I met ya. Not before that. You bring life, into everything that ya do. I'm just lucky, that you've picked me. To share in your life.

Doll Face, I'm sure that I don't tell ya enough. But I want for you to know this. I love ya. You are my world. The reason why I push forward. You've made me a better man. The woman that you are, inspires me to be a better man.

"Every little kiss, is drivin' me wild." Simply that's what ya do to me. In all the good ways, that only you can do. This is love. True love. I value it. More than any words can say.

The world is a better place. Because you are in it. My life, has never been better. Because you are sharing your life, with me. "Yeah, I'm a little drunk on you!" My only hope, is that I can make you as happy, as ya make me. Happy Birthday Love! Your Guy

29 is the Time to Leap!

"All growth, is a leap in the dark. A spontaneous unpremeditated act, without benefit of experience." ~Henry Miller

Sometimes, I feel like it's time to jump. To just take that flying leap, off of a ledge. To just experience life. I feel like, in many ways, I've held back. I've censored myself. In life. I haven't allowed myself, to fully experience life. To enjoy life.

I'm looking at "Year 29," as being a real "life changer." A point, when my life really does change. For the better. When I grab life, and really let myself grow. To grow in my happiness, soul, and my heart. I want to be a better person.

Much of my life, has been lived, walking a very "fine line." Not really jumping into anything. Not really going 100%, "in over my head" deep. And I want to change that. I want to jump, without over thinking things. I want to be that person, that just runs full force, into life!

This picture, in so many ways, inspires me. So much, that I had it printed, on a canvas. For my office. To remind me, that sometimes, we just need to "grow wings." And take that running leap. To really, go after life.

It's funny! That the older I get, the more chances I want to take. The more I want to just be, truthful to me. I want to expand my world. I want to really chase after my dreams. And make myself happy. Truly happy. Yes, this year, I plan to make it really count. Year 29, is going to be the year, that I allow myself, to be me.

Happy Birthday Abby!

Dear Abby,

Happy 2nd Birthday! Today, you and Robbie, turn 2. It's a BIG deal! Your Nono and I, can't stop smiling. To know, that you are growing up, to be the best little girl!

There's not a day, that goes by, when I don't think of you. When a smile makes it's way, to my lips. When I don't miss your "baaffly kisses." Or your little whispers, in my ear. Yes, I miss all those things!

But it's been a thrill, watching you grow. In 2 years, you've changed so much! Become more, and more loving. Much more independent. Wanting to do so much, all by yourself. Everything from making your bed, to tying your shoes. :)

You absolutely melt my heart, with your big "squeezes." And great big smiles! How you chase around butterflies. And wonder about everything in life. Wonder why the sky is blue. And marshmallows are white. Why the puppy, likes to sleep under Nono's desk. And why you can see me, in the computer. :)

Sweet Abby, you just make my heart sing. Every single time, you put on my high heels, and "tot around." When you hold tight, to my finger. And nuzzle into my neck, as you fall asleep. I just LOVE watching how excited you get, over "cuppy cakes." And how you ALWAYS grab for your baby, and your favorite book.

Today is a very special day. A day when you become a "Big Girl." You're not a baby. And I know, that your Mommy, is a little sad about that. So am I. But it's so magical, to watch you grow so big! I can't wait, to see what's in your future. And how you become, an amazing "Big Girl."

Happy Birthday Abby! I hope that you and Robbie, have an AMAZING DAY! I LOVE YOU SO!!! And wish that I could be there, with you, today. Have lots of fun! And enjoy your day. :)

Love,
Your Nana♥

Girl Fun

Today, I picked up Little K from school. We were in much need, of a "Girl Day." It was a good thing, that this guy was out working. :)

Our schedule has been so crazy! And we haven't been home much, in the last month. There really isn't time for a whole day of "Girly Fun" to be had. A Tuesday afternoon, was just going to have to do. We wanted to just stay around the house. Have some fun! Do some girly things. Um, just spend some time together.

You see, last week, I called Little K. And asked her, what she wanted to do. "Stay at the house. Cook something good, with you. Oh, and bake some cookies." Easy peasy! That sounds a lot, like my "Favorite Days" too!

First thing on our list, was cookies. And we couldn't decide. This cookie. Or chocolate chip cookies. With double the chocolate chips, and tons of pecans! We decided to make both. But we made these cookies with cherry jell-O, and flower sprinkles. Perfection for Little K! And completely different, from the cookies I made over the weekend.

After some baking, and some much needed "Taste Testing," we went to "Relax and Chat." 2 friendly dogs, crawled on the couch with us. And I got caught up, on Little K's life. You know...Barbies, being a Big Sister, and kindergarten. The good stuff, that life is made of.

During our conversation, Little K noticed our iPad. Laying on the coffee table. Picked it up. And noticed that I had been reading Ruffles and Stuff. She immediately noticed this post! And wanted to create something for her room. :)

We pulled out some paper, my crafty best friend, and some comfy pillows. Yes, for the next 2 hours, we made some fun words to hang. Little inspirational things. Little K's "Special Name," that I have for her. Things like that. We had a blast! And she told me, that she'd remember this day, whenever she sees her words!

Before I knew it, it was dinner time. And we hadn't cooked! Little K tells me, "I got this covered. Can I use the phone?" I was intrigued. So I handed over the phone. And she called her uncle!!!

"Um, we're busy Uncle Guy. Can you do me a BIG favor? And bring dinner home. With some ice cream. We made cookies. And you can have some. But only if, we get dinner!"

Girl knows how to work her Uncle Guy! 30 minutes later, he was home. 4 bags of take-out, 2 gallons of ice cream, and a present. That's what he came home with!

We spent the rest of the night, catching Uncle Guy up, on Little K's life. Then there was a little painting of nails, to be done. So this guy cleaned up the kitchen, while we put this nail polish to good use. And then he joined us, for dessert, playing with Barbies, and watching this movie. Yup, it was a good day!

Happy Spring!

Today is the first day of Spring!!! I'm so excited! Words cannot describe my happiness. Spring has ALWAYS been my favorite season. And not just because, I was born on the first day of Spring...just a few years ago! :) But I love how Spring makes you feel new, and fresh. It's a time for new beginnings, and growth. A time, to refresh your life. And appreciate nature. Oh yes, I LOVE Spring!!!

Happy Birthday Maribel!

Dear Maribel,

Happy Birthday sweet girl! Today, you are 5 years old. Such a big girl! A sweet little girl, that is spreading all of your love, to all of us. Us very lucky people.

What a blessing it's been. These 5 years. To be part of your life. To know, that in some small way, I'm helping to guide you, in life. I will always be grateful to your Mommy and Daddy, for giving me this chance. For giving your Nono, and I, this chance.

My entire heart, lights up, when I'm around you. When we curl up, with your books. To read about far away lands. And all the time, we spend playing with your dollies. The many tea parties that we've had. It's time, that I will ALWAYS cherish!

It's such a blessing, to spend this time with you. To warm my heart, with all of your love. To watch, as you grow, into a "Big Girl." The joy, that you spread, with your music and dancing. Maribel, you are such a sweet girl!

Today, I can't be there with you. But know, that I'm ALWAYS in your heart. And soul. That your Nana will ALWAYS LOVE YOU!!! And you can ALWAYS count on me. Have a Happy 5th Birthday! Filled with all your wishes, come true! :)

Love,
Your Nana♥

Raspberry Upside-Down Cake

I'll admit this much, I was supposed to be studying yesterday. But I did take a few minutes, to look at this week's Gooseberry Patch Recipe of the Week. And it sounded delish! But as you know, I really didn't have the time, to give it a second thought, this week. So I "Favorited" the recipe. And hoped, to get back to it, later this week.

Little did I realize, but I was on this guy's laptop. And today, while I was at work, he got on his laptop. He was just hanging around the house. And he got the idea, to bake me this cake. So he called his grandma. Went out, and bought the ingredients. And when I got home, he not only had dinner made, but this beautiful cake! Yum!

Raspberry Upside-Down Cake

1/4 c. butter, melted
1/4 c. sugar
1-1/2 c. raspberries
2 T. sliced almonds
1-1/2 c. biscuit baking mix
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. milk
2 T. oil
1/2 t. vanilla extract
1/2 t. almond extract
1 egg, beaten
Garnish: additional raspberries and sliced almonds

Drizzle butter in a 9" round cake pan; sprinkle sugar over top. Arrange raspberries, open ends up, over sugar mixture; sprinkle with almonds. In a bowl, combine remaining ingredients except garnish. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for 4 minutes. Pour into pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes, until a toothpick tests clean. Immediately place a heatproof serving plate upside-down over pan; turn plate and pan over. Leave pan over cake for one minute to allow sugar mixture to drizzle over cake; remove pan. Cool 10 minutes before serving. Garnish as desired and serve warm. Makes 9 servings.

It was so yummy! The perfect way, to end a very long day! I should tell you, that Pineapple Upside Down Cake, is my 2nd favorite cake. Right behind, a Fresh Strawberry Cake. With whipped cream! So this cake, already, has a sweet spot, in my heart!

From what I hear, this was a very easy cake to make! Minimal effort. With maximum impact! I am definitely printing out this recipe. And it's going to be one of those "go-to" recipes for me. The ones you reach for, when you want something fresh and easy. Something beautiful. And something beautiful to entertain with!

These are the little things, that make me realize, I have an AMAZING Man in my life! He knows, that this week, is a little nuts for me. Not much time, to take care of myself. Definitely, not time to take care of him. But he does these little things, that not only remind me, that he's taking care of me. But things that make my week so much calmer, easier, and enjoyable. This man, definitely knows, how to treat a woman! ♥

Little Owl Crochet Along

It's no secret, that I LOVE to crochet! No, it's not. I ALWAYS have a ball of yarn, and a crochet hook, in my purse or briefcase. ALWAYS!!! You should also note, I'm a BIG fan of Ana Paula Rimoli. Her crochet patterns, and toys, are so cute! If you need some convincing, check out Ana's Flickr page. :)

If you've never seen Ana's work, you should visit her blog. And her Etsy Shop. In fact, 4 or 5 years ago, I made my first purchase from Ana. A handful of patterns. Later, I bought her books. Bought magazines, with her patterns in them. And then, this guy, surprised me, with all of her Etsy patterns!

Right now, Ana is hosting a Crochet Along. With her cute "Little Owl" pattern. You can find the pattern on her blog. And you should connect with Ana, on her Facebook page.

One thing about Ana, she is so incredibly kind! And so helpful. In fact, one of the first patterns that I bought, had a mistake in it. She actually, hunted out, everyone who bought that pattern, and sent them a personal e-mail. With an apology, the correct pattern, and a "bonus" pattern. I've had many chats with her, via e-mail. And Ana is always so helpful! She LOVES for people, to send her pictures, of the items they've made. From her patterns. And is ALWAYS so encouraging!

In fact, every single time, that I've purchased something from Ana, she has been a doll! And often posts free patterns, on her blog. For all of you crocheters out there, please support Ana! And if you can't buy a pattern at this time, join her Crochet Along. ♥

A Lesson Learned in Life...

This week, we're in a beautiful place. The hills of the "Big Bend State." Oh yes, it's beautiful! We spent lots of time, just enjoying the area. Amazing vintage shopping! My Bestie and I, took a long stroll, with Baby C. Just enjoying the beauty, of this space. This my friends, is one of my favorite places to visit!

But now, it's work time, for My Guy. And honestly, I'm pretty excited. I myself, will be studying. But it's not so bad! I have a HUGE exam tomorrow. And a lot on schedule this week. Medical Conferences, Clinicals, and did I mention the traveling?

So I'm going to leave you with a song, that this Mr. is currently grooving on. He's having some issues, with a friend or two. I think this song, just tells it, like he feels it. "Be yourself, by yourself, stay away from me."

In the meantime, I'm going to grab some lunch. And my favorite pillow. Probably change into a comfy sweatsuit. And crack open the books. It feels good, to get to study, such life changing things.

Have a great week friends! Most of my posts this week, will be scheduled. But I will "pop in" from time to time. Happy Sunday!

Crochet Along: Week 4

Happy Sunday! I think this Crochet Along, is a success! I've had so many positive e-mails this week. Which makes me smile! :) That's the whole reason, that Manders and I wanted to do this. To reach out to fellow crocheters. And create something beautiful, in the process.

This week, we're working on our third, "Bunny Block." Rows 46-66. Pretty much, it's exactly what we did, during Week 2. I'm really excited, to see how big our blankets are going to get. I can tell, this is going to be a good week!

This week, I fell a little behind. I was performing, early in the week. And late in the week, I was doing some last minute things, for my friend's Baby Shower. But I managed to get to row 45. I'm really excited, to have 2 "Bunny Blocks" done. But now, I kinda of wonder, how would the blanket look, if every other bunny, faced the opposite direction? Maybe I'll try that, on the next one! For now, I'm going to tackle rows 46-66! Have a GREAT week!

Treasures from Family Dollar

The last 2 weeks, are just a complete blur! No lie! I'm exhausted. We've done a lot of traveling. And even more working. But, I have something fun, to share with you. Before I settle in, for a quick nap! :)

My Bestie and I, recently went to Family Dollar. You see, when My Guy and I, were taking a little break, at my house, My Bestie, this guy, and Baby C were traveling. They made a little stop to get My Bestie her favorite BBQ. And then, they went shopping, in the Family Dollar, next door.

My Bestie saw a cute outfit, that she really wanted for Baby C. But they didn't have her size. :( And it was super cute! She sent me a picture. A little eyelet and peach dress. Adorable! So when we all met up in Sin City, we were positive, that we'd find it!

But the week was crazy! And I didn't really have any "down time," to go shopping. And My Bestie, was trying to avoid her ex-husband. So no shopping was done. :( But this week, we found ourselves, with some "down time." Not much for the 2 of us to do, while this guy, and this guy worked. So we headed to town.

And we found a Family Dollar. And well, we went a little nuts! That can happen in stores like this. Because everything, is ridiculously inexpensive. Well, 3 hours later, we walked out. With more bags, than I'd like to admit. I'm not lying! But we did find Baby C's dress!

One of the products that I did buy, was a nail polish. It was a last minute deal. I saw it, at the register. And I thought, for a $1, why not try it. The worst possibility, Big K might inherit it!

This is Sea Siren. The perfect turquoise color! Something that I'd been wanting to buy. For Spring. It's a little darker, in person. And has the slightest shimmer to it. Nothing crazy. Not glitter. But a shimmer, that sort of catches the light.

Like every other nail polish, that I've ever worn, it took 2 coats, to appear opaque. I polished my nails on Tuesday night. No base coat. No top coat. I've cooked, cleaned, crafted, worked, and even gardened this week. All week! And I didn't have a single chip!!! I took it off this morning. To paint my nails lime green. You know, because it's St. Patty's Day. I'm sure, I could have gotten a few more days, out of this nail polish.

I have to say, this nail polish really shocked me! For a $1, it holds up better, than some of my more expensive ones. I'm always surprised, by what I find in dollar stores. But this was a great buy! I'm thinking, I need to head back to Family Dollar. And pick up a few more nail polishes. ♥

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Happy St. Patty's Day! Are you wearing green? Cause you know, I'm looking for you. :) Just playing! But on some "green news," I baked a few batches of these. Yesterday! For this guy and his co-workers. I hope they enjoy them today. Because honestly, they are yummy!

Me? I'm headed to the Southwest. For my friend's Baby Shower. Today! Baby girl, is due any time now!!! And I'm so excited!!! I'm so honored, to be her Godmother. Honestly, there is little, that is more exciting than that!

Her nursery is almost done. I sewed all the bedding, curtains, and such. Because we couldn't find anything with peaches. I luckily came across some fabric, at a tiny Sewing Shop. In the middle of nowhere! I hope to finish the nursery today. There are just a few things, left to do. But first, it's time for the "Peach Themed Baby Shower." And in case you are wondering, my friend is from Georgia. Get it...Georgia Peaches! Well, I better get going. I'm flying right now. Soon it will be time for a little celebrating!

The Magic of Little Sister!

This guy's little sister, knows that I adore Max Factor. Heck, she knows that I adore makeup in general! I finally figured out, who was giving this guy, so many tips about makeup. He ALWAYS brings home sweet gifts for me. Like MAC's entire, newest collection! Or some new product, that I've never heard of. It's his little sister. Oh, and that manager, at our local mall. :)

Anyways, his little sister met someone in the UK. I'm not sure how. Or the details. But they were chatting it up. And decided to do some sort of "Makeup Swap." I don't know all the details. But "Little Sister," asked for some specific things. Some of which, we're for me!!!

I almost cried, when I got 5 tubes of my beloved mascara! The blue tube, because it's waterproof! And 10 Lipfinity Lip Tint Pens! Oh my goodness!!! I've been walking on clouds, ever since!

Yes, she knows, that I simply adore lipstains. I've got very pigmented lips. And these liptints, just seem to be, the way to go. Oh, and they're amazingly long lasting! Especially on my long, 48 hour shifts, at the hospital! They last!

These liptints are AMAZING! You can build up the color. To get amazingly pigmented lips. Like a lipstick. But they are long lasting. And you don't leave a "Lipstick Trail." You know, on glasses, or this man's lips. :)

Unlike other lipstains that I've used, these don't dry out your lips. They are left feeling soft. The applicator is the perfect shape! Often times, they're too big. But this one is perfect! Giving you good control, when applying the product. You don't need any lipliners, or lipgloss, to complete your look. Everything you need, comes in this little tube!

Yay, for "Makeup Swaps," and "Little Sisters!" Is there anyone from the UK, that would be willing to do a "Makeup Swap" with me? I've got my eyes on a few more "UK Only Products!" ♥
