Counting Our Blessings

This has been such a busy weekend. Good and bad. We've enjoyed lots of "Q-Time" with our friends. But then there was some tragedy near us. We're all praying for the family. And the families of the Empire State Building shooting. Wow! It's just been so up and down lately.

It makes what this man does for a living, seem a little...well "unimportant" this morning. His words, not mine. When you see the "Real World" crashing down around you, sometimes it just makes you think. But we're trying to get our heads on straight.

This guy has to work tonight. Not tomorrow. Like during a "usual week." It kind of throws off our schedule. But that means we have tomorrow off. And what are we going to do? Have a "Date Day," in Tennessee. Should be fun!

Until then, this guy is clowning around. We're watching Baby C this morning. As her momma, isn't feeling well. And well, this Nono is having a blast! Singing this song to her...

And she just thinks it's that best thing ever! I've got to admit, it's fun to watch him sing and dance around. With not a care in the world! Because tonight, he will be very serious, at work. And I'll probably be having a blast with Baby C. Maybe we might get a little nap in too!

But more than anything, today is about counting our blessings. With all these tragedies that are happening, and knowing that my own grandma is experiencing some health issues, we must count our blessings. Our family could really use your prayers right now.

God is GREAT! We just need to believe in him. And remember he is here, to help us carry our hardships. Happy Saturday!

Incredibly Sad

The news of Amy Winehouse's death, well it just made me sad. What a talented individual she was. A real singer. Not one of these "Manufactured Pop Stars" that we know of. But a real musical talent.

So many things seemed to be wrong in her life. So much trouble, and pain, seemed to envelope Amy. And it's incredibly sad, that no one could save her from it. We don't know what her cause of death is. And I'm not going to speculate anything here. I just wish, that for such a talented and gifted woman, that she would have had a good support team.

I first heard Amy's music, from a friend. This was before it ever was released in the USA. And I was mesmerized. There was just something about her voice. An old school voice. And I was sold. She was almost instantly, one of my favorite singers.

I never really followed the drama in Amy's life. I never bought the magazines, or searched the web. But you couldn't escape it. The drama, and her weaknesses, were splashed all over. On magazine covers, TV, radio, newspapers, and even the news. My heart broke for her.

And it still breaks for Amy. Because she had so much to share with the world. Her untimely death, just makes me sad. I hope that Amy can now find peace and happiness. Something she seemed to be looking for, her entire life. Rest in peace. ♥

Elizabeth Taylor

What a beauty. A legend. Elizabeth Taylor. I was s sadden to hear the news this morning. Elizabeth has gone to heaven.

Why does this hurt my heart so much? I'm not sure. Maybe one of those things. Because she's the last on a truly amazing, classic, and elegant people. People who were larger than life. Bigger than you could imagine. Yes, that was Elizabeth.

I remember watching her movies as a kid. I've always liked a good black and white movie. And watching Cleopatra with my Mom. I remember immediately wanting to dress up like Cleopatra. To be her for Halloween. No lie!

There was this one time, I was really sick. And I remember coming home from school. I laid on the couch, put the TV on, and watched a marathon of Elizabeth Taylor's movies. It was probably one of the best days of my life. Other than being sick.

Elizabeth was the last of the real "Movie Stars." The legends. People who were "bigger than life." Not celebrities. But people who you really wished that you could meet. Maybe live their life for a day. Because what little girl didn't want to play with Elizabeth's beautiful jewelry.

Rest in Peace Elizabeth. You are so dearly loved by many. A truly elegant woman. ♥

Prayers for Japan

I'm just speechless. What can you really say at a time like this? Not much. I'm saying many, many, many extra prayers today. For everyone in Japan. For all the people, that were directly effected by the earthquake. And to all the families.

All we can really do right now, is pray. In the coming days, I'm sure that we'll be able to send aide. Japan will need us all. To get back on their feet. To ensure that the Japanese people are safe. And as a world, we'll rally together.

But right now, in these moments. We need to pray. Thank God for all of your blessings. And try to come up with a plan. A plan to help all those who were touched by this earthquake. ♥
