Searching For Pineapples...

Way back when, I was browsing the aisles of Wal-Mart. At 3AM. Where I live, that's the best time to shop. Almost no one, is in the store. And in a college town, that's rare. Where our local store is booming with college aged shoppers until 2AM. And the "family types," take over around 6AM.

Well, on this particular day, I found some pineapple candles. I can just imagine what you are thinking. But I have a soft place in my heart, for the pineapple. Since I was little, I've always preferred pineapple juice, over all other juices. Weird? I don't know. But it's the truth.

So at 3AM, I found myself buying 12 pineapple candles. It didn't hurt, that the sweet yellow color, matched my guest bathroom perfectly. The scent was light. And not overly sweet. But it scented the bathroom nicely. Just a light hint, of pineapple. Fresh pineapple. Not something artificial.

This went well with everything else in my life. At the time. The palm trees, that were in my backyard. My daily fresh pineapple snack. The soft glow of candles, when I'd get home, from a long day at work.

Fast forward. 2 or 3 years. And I was on my last 2 candles. During any other time in my life, I'd have gone through those candles, in less than a year. But I was no splitting my time, between 2 homes, and the open road. It was a good thing. It extended my little stash. But now, I'm missing those candles. And that time in my life...

I took to Wal-Mart, about 18 months ago. Searching for my beloved candles. With no luck! I searched and searched. Spent months. Asked friends. Looked for other candles. Searched on eBay. But I've had no luck!

So I figured, I'd take to my blog. And ask, has anyone seen a pineapple candle? Any brand. Any store. But I'm looking for just a pineapple candle. I've found candles, a variety of combinations. But the other scents, overwhelm the pineapple.

I hope someone can help me. Point me in the right direction. I know, years ago I found those candles in Spring. So maybe someone has seen something. Or maybe you know of a good Etsy shop. I want a realistic scent. Something that reminds me of fresh pineapple. Thank You ahead of time, for all your help! ♥

I've Got to Get Creative...

I've got a few friends who are expecting. Some cutie patootie, babes they will be! My friends have asked me to do them a favor. Crochet them up some cute "photo props." Oh boy! I've got to make a little sock monkey outfit. And a few giraffe hats.

I don't have a pattern. Nor can I find one. But my friends, made sure to e-mail me the pictures, that they liked. I'm thinking, they are from Etsy. But I'm not sure.

 

Isn't this the cutest monkey, that you've ever seen? Boy, I'm in love!!! Now to figure out how to make this little outfit. I'm thinking, everything about this should be pretty easy. The hat looks like a basic, "ear flap hat." With a little face. The little diaper cover, shouldn't be too hard. I'm thinking, the toughest part of this, is going to be, figuring out those ears...

This giraffe seems a little more "complicated." Not by much. But still more thought, will have to go into it. I'm thinking, another basic "ear flap hat." The ears remind me of little leaves. It's those "horn type" things on top...that might be a bit of an issue.

Actually, I'm really excited about this. I think it should be fun. The monkey is for my good friend Dawn. And the giraffe, actually I need to make 2 of those. For my friend Amber. I work with her. And she's expecting twins in December. I better get moving! ♥

His Favorite

I'm ALWAYS at a loss, at what to buy this guy. For his birthday, Christmas, or our Anniversary. It's so difficult! Because he has everything he needs, and wants. And whenever he finds something he wants, he buys it. Unlike most of us. Who put it on a list. Hoping one day, to own it.

Yes, all his years of hard work, do pay off. It allows him, to buy what he wants, when he wants it. But for me, it's tough. Because when these special days roll around, I'm hopeless. What makes things 100X's worse, is he spoils me to death!

Can you see my issue? You should have seen me at Christmas time! I didn't know what to buy My Love. I spent weeks and weeks, searching stores. And online. Then one late night, I found this table on Etsy. I ordered 2!!!



What I didn't realize was, he'd TOTALLY LOVE THEM! My Guy has an office in our home. And he promptly moved furniture around. Gave away the 2 end tables, that he had in there. And put these 2 tables in their place.

And while a buddy of his was over, a month ago, he was raving about these tables! It made my heart grow with LOVE! He REALLY LOVES his gift. It was the best feeling. To know that he didn't even know about these, before Christmas. But now he enjoys them!

Now people, I'm on the hunt for a good birthday present. I've got just over 3 months. I hope I find another treasure out there! Between, don't you just LOVE Etsy? ♥

Fun Walls :)

We've been looking at tons of decor ideas. Tons! And one that we keep coming back to, is the idea of the vinyl wall decals. When we were decorating rooms for our "Little Nieces," we used some fun decals.

And now, we realize, that you can use them in other rooms. And they don't look cheesy. OK, some can. But for the most part, they are just fun!



This van, banner, pom-pom decal is just fun! It reminds me of a scribble. Just a little doodle for our wall. OK, I like it. But probably wouldn't put this up in our home. But it is fun!



I saw this, and immediately thought..."Would be perfect for Little Nephew!" We're still working on his room, in our home. I think this would be fun. :)



Or maybe something a little more traditional looking. I just adore this picture! For all the details. Those chairs are AMAZING! Love the light fixture. And those walls...



How about bringing in some nature? Love these trees! And those little birds are adorable. Not too over the top. Just perfect!



This tree is so adorable! Actually, this picture totally inspired me. And I spent about 3 hours searching through Etsy. And finally found a seller to replicate this. I ordered it for our "Mud Room."



Honestly, this is my favorite! This tree is GORGEOUS! I'd LOVE to find this somewhere. I think it would look AMAZING in our living room. It's chic. And whimsical.

There are so many wonderful ideas out there. I found all these pictures on Pinterest. And I've been inspired. These are such fun and easy ways to dress up a room. Not too complicated. Vinyl decals stick well to walls. But come off easily, when you are ready for a change. Definitely something to try out. ♥

Quirky and Fun!!!

Later this summer, we have a REALLY FUN event to go to! I already have the dress to wear. Which is gorgeous! Thank You Cole! And I got an e-mail with this picture. How fun is this?



Turns out, the fascinator is not optional! But that's perfectly fine with me! Because when else, do you get an excuse, to wear something like this? Between, fascinators will ALWAYS remind me of My Bestie's wedding. It's what we wore. :)

I'm so EXCITED for this Southern event. I've been counting down the days, since Christmas!!! Maybe because, it's a good excuse to get all dressed up. And have a ton of fun, with My Love! Oh, and definitely, to wear this quirky head accessory! ♥

Little Rain Drops

I've ALWAYS been a big fan of rain. I'm giving the credit to my grandparents. As I spent years and years, with them. For many summers, I'd spend 2 months with them. In the mountains. They had a tin roof. And when the summer rains rolled into the mountains, there was nothing better then sitting on their porch. Listening to the steady rain falling. Watching, as it cleaned the Earth.

I still feel like that. When the rain rolls in, I feel like I'm 5 years old again. Sitting on that front porch. Watching as God cleanses the world. The only way, that really wipes away the filth. I'm drawn to rain. Forget rainy nights. I'll spend hours, just listening to the rain. Feeling a certain "peace" come over me.

Lately, rains have been seldom. Far between. Something that I've craved more and more. I just feel like my own spirit, needs some cleansing. And there is nothing like a good rain, that cleans a person's soul. And since we haven't had rain, I've searched out some rain inspired treats. :)



This rain cloud necklace, is so incredible! It's delicate. Unexpected. And so fun! Now if I could just find the seller...



What about this fun and colorful rain cloud? So fun! Another treat, that I'd LOVE to own! The colorful raindrops, just make me smile!!!



And this precious picture makes me smile! I can't find a source for this one either. :( But this is something, that I can try to replicate. Oh yes! I just need to head out for a canvas. I can't wait, to have a little fun painting like this.

It's funny, how much I like rain, rain clouds, rain drops...anything of that sort! Have you seen anything similar? I'd LOVE to hear all about it! Because I'm so serious, about purchasing some "rain" inspire items. ♥

I've Always Wanted One!!!

Have you ever had anything on your "Wishlist," that you've wanted for years? Something that you swear, you're going to buy. But never do. Something that screams at you. But you seem to ignore it? For me, that would be a "Pocket Watch Necklace."



I found this picture on Pinterest. With no source. WHAT??? If I could find these sweet watches, I'd buy all 3! Without thinking twice. Because when I was 7 years old, I walked away from the most gorgeous Pocket Watch. At a yard sale. And it still haunts me. To this day!

Have you seen anything similar? Anything on Etsy? Or maybe you know where this picture is from. I'd appreciate the help! I'm a lady on a mission. To buy a watch, that reminds me of my Grandpa! ♥

So Fun!!!

I was doing a little research for some babies. Some beautiful baby girls. And I happened upon one of the cutest Etsy shops ever! Full of adorable accessories for baby girls. Sweet head pieces, that make me want a baby of my own!



I don't know what's cuter. The headband, the ruffle dress, or the baby! This would be so perfect for Miss Savannah Belle! I can't even begin to tell you, just how perfect it would be. This Nana just might have to order this! :)



"Hold the Phone!" I can't get over how cute this hat is. With the little veil. And all those flowers and feathers. Let's not forget that adorable little dress!



Lastly, I can't say enough about this whole ensemble! Totally reminds me of Baby Jelly. But the colors also remind of Gabi. Oh my goodness! This is so cute!

I want to order one of everything, from Miss Ruby Sue! And these adorable dresses, I want to make one in every color!!! I wonder how quickly My Guy and I, can make a couple of baby girls! :) Just kidding. But really, I might have to start ordering from this shop. For my Goddaughters!!! ♥

Little Owl Crochet Along

It's no secret, that I LOVE to crochet! No, it's not. I ALWAYS have a ball of yarn, and a crochet hook, in my purse or briefcase. ALWAYS!!! You should also note, I'm a BIG fan of Ana Paula Rimoli. Her crochet patterns, and toys, are so cute! If you need some convincing, check out Ana's Flickr page. :)

If you've never seen Ana's work, you should visit her blog. And her Etsy Shop. In fact, 4 or 5 years ago, I made my first purchase from Ana. A handful of patterns. Later, I bought her books. Bought magazines, with her patterns in them. And then, this guy, surprised me, with all of her Etsy patterns!

One thing about Ana, she is so incredibly kind! And so helpful. In fact, one of the first patterns that I bought, had a mistake in it. And Ana is always so helpful! She LOVES for people, to send her pictures, of the items they've made. From her patterns. And is ALWAYS so encouraging!

The Perfect Message

Life gets crazy! Really quickly. And we tend to forget, what is really important. Because we're busy working. Chasing the dollar. And pining over all these "worldly treasures." We forget what is really important. That life is about God, family and friends.



I recently saw this, in an Etsy Shop. For the world of me, I can't find it now. But I thought it was a perfect reminder. Of the important things in life. The things that really matter. About feeding our soul, with all the love and promise, that God has for us. That life is about more, than just money and possessions.

I was surprised, when this guy brought it home. Just this week. It was something, that also spoke to him. Spoke to his soul, just like it had for me. We hung it, right inside a sitting room. That is connected to our bedroom. So we could see it every single day. And we can reflect on the things, in our lives, that are really important and meaningful. ♥

Call Me Crazy...

But I just LOVE this top! I've been pretty lazy, fashion wise, as of late. Wearing lots and lots of leggings. With tons of over sized tops. Not a throw back to the 1980s, but you know what I mean. I really enjoy wearing fun, and fashionable clothes. But sometimes, you just need something comfy. This top might just be a little much, but I like it. I wonder, if I can make one of my own... ♥

I Want One

For a while now, I've been wanting a carpet bag. One just like this one! I know, it sounds odd, but it's what I've been searching for. With absolutely, no luck! :O(



Just look at how fun this bag is. Something old. With a history. But so fun! A bag like this, will totally jazz up any outfit. Heck, I think this would be fun to add to my closet. I could honestly stare at it all day long!



Look at the inside of this bag! Isn't it just so fun? I LOVE it! Now if I can just find one. I really want a carpet bag. It's different. And fun. So fun! Something to make me smile, on those cloudy days. ♥

Homako

Love this Etsy shop! Homako has the cutest pieces. They're all handmade. With some pretty cute and original ideas. Actually, they make me, want to start making jewelry again. Oh, that used to be so much fun! Anyway, take a look at Homako's Shop. All I can say is, Eye Candy!



This is one of my favorite necklaces in the shop. Don't you just LOVE this style?!?!?! And the colors! So cute! I'd LOVE to buy it. But $32! A little much for me. Considering it's made out of felt. Oh, but I do LOVE it! I think it would like so cute with a white t-shirt, jeans, and a cute blazer. Maybe I'll convince myself to buy it. ♥

Love and Pillows

I recently came across something, that made me smile. You see, My Guy and I travel a lot. A LOT! When we first started dating, it was a long distance relationship. One that crossed timezones. And fond us on opposite ends of the country. He would fly me out for the weekend. He'd make it a point, to hangout with me early in the week. But it was tough.

Skype became our best friend. E-mail, IMs, and phone calls were a must! He'd hide little notes, so I could find them, when we weren't together. I'd steal a shirt of his. We were actually quite funny! So when I saw this pillow, it just made me think of this time. And my Love!



These days, we live and travel together. But recently, we've been apart. More and more. As I try and help my Mom take care of my Dad. And My Guy has to work. We still make it a point, to only be away from one another, for just a day or two. But those are some lonely times.

I'm positive that these pillows would be a nice addition for us. A comfort of sorts. With our home states on them. Just a little something to remind us, of each other. When we are apart. Funny how, My Guy, was searching the internet, for these pillow cases. And we can't find them anywhere!

I guess, that means, I need to get busy. And I'm not that great at embroidery. So this could get interesting. Have you seen these anywhere? I really want to buy a few. I even searched Etsy. With absolutely no luck! And I'm pretty positive, that they have to come from a handmade shop. Please help! ♥

Beautiful Signs

I've been a HUGE fan of Barn Owl Primitives for a while now. There are a few signs, that I've been meaning to buy, for a while now. But when I took a look at their shop this week, I just fell in love with a few more!

Everyone keeps telling My Guy and I that we need to take the plunge already! You know, get married. So this sign, just made me laugh! I guess you can say, we're both a little "nervous" when it comes to marriage. :)

This is probably my favorite sign! I just LOVE dessert. And I'm always telling people to enjoy life. This NEEDS to be hanging somewhere in our kitchen. ASAP!

For as long as I can remember, this has been "my quote." And when My Guy and I started dating, we felt the same way. Life is all about hard work. So this sign, it just sums up our beliefs!

What more can I say? Even big girls need a little "magic" in their lives! I could see this hanging in my office. Or in my craft room. Perfection!

And lastly, my FAVORITE! It's just beautiful. Sums up so many emotions. Makes me think of so many wonderful people. And it reminds me of my own dreams, for my own future.

You can see, my list is growing. It may reach a length that even My Guy fears. No stinkin' lie! But these are great "little reminders" to have in your home. Now I just need to start "collecting" all my favorites! Really, my list is about 12 signs long!!! ♥

Vintage BETTERAVE 1930s Ring

I'm a big fan of any and all things Vintage. Always have been! I used to go to my Nanie's house a lot, as a kid. And I really liked dressing up in all of her pretty clothes, shoes, and accessories. Lots of stuff from the 1950s. And I'd play in my Mom's closet too! Lots and lots of stuff from the 1970s and 1980s.

But I've always had this thing for jewelry, shoes, and handbags. Especially from the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. That's probably why I like my parents' Car Club so much! They get to dress up for all their events. So much fun!



But today, I found this beautiful ring. I know that it's not a real ruby ring. Or anything fancy. But I still LOVE it! The red stone is just so attractive to me. :) I just might have to splurge, and get this beauty for myself. Because what girl, young or old, doesn't like to play dress up? ♥

Light My Way

I know that I've shared quite a few giveaway posts this week. Probably more than I should have. Scratch that. I know, that I've done way more than I should have. But I have been under the weather. Stuck in bed. And had almost nothing else to do. So there you go.

Anyway, I'm headed to go see My Guy today. It's just been a short time away from each other, but we both miss each other already. Crazy. I know! But I guess that's what you call love. :)

Little Kisses

Happy Sunday! It's a pretty wonderful day out here. I can't lie. I hear that it's supposed to be 80 degrees today! Wow! Florida I love you!

My Guy has already left for work. I'm guessing that he will be back in a little bit. You know, to get his head together before all the action. But I can tell just how excited he is, to be back at work. And I'm full heartily happy for him. :)

So while I have some time to kill, and I'm stuck in bed, I've been doing lots of Etsy "Window Shopping." Yes, it's not good for the bank account. But seriously, there are so many beautiful things that I have saved to my favorites. :) Like these earrings. Hello! They're gorgeous!

I should just buy them. But I'm trying to show restrain. Oh, and you know, the college costs are just piling up. So I'm just looking for now. But really there are so many talented people out there. They really do inspire me.

So back to real life. I have to admit, I'm excited for this afternoon. But I'm really sad to be leaving paradise...AKA Florida. I'm going to soak up as much of it as possible...in our last few hours here. Happy Sunday! ♥
