Green Stuff...

When I was young, my family was, well for the lack of a better word, obsessed with green jell-O and Kool-Aid. Yes, they were! My grandma only bought green Kool-Aid. Ever! It was so odd.

Green jell-O, well it was delish! And a staple for the holidays. With a little bit of whipped cream. You think I'm kidding, but I'm not!

And that green Kool-Aid, we drank it by the gallons. No lie! Especially in summer. I can still remember, sitting on my grandparents porch, drinking green Kool-Aid.

Ya, my family favored the green, or lime flavored goods. Can I admit it? When I'm feeling homesick, I search out green Kool-Aid and jell-O.

OK, and that's were this gets funny. I never understood why my grandma, used to have to send green Kool-Aid and jell-O, to my auntie. Who at the time, lived in California. Because in my home state, it was sold everywhere! Now I know. Depending on what part of the country we're in, you can't find these green treats. What's up with that? Do companies really do that? Only sell certain flavors of products, in certain areas. I'm curious...

National Hug Day 2011

Did you know that today is National Hug Day? Thanks to a quick e-mail check, which lead to some AOL article that I read, and another link that I followed...I found out the news. Is it good or bad? Not sure...

You see, I'm not a traditional "hugger." Nope. I was that little girl that ran from people. You know, at the mere sight of the impending hug. Yes, I would run and hide. All to avoid a hug. Why? Who the heck knows! Our closest of friends, had no special place in "my circle of huggers." Nope. That was simply for my parents, grandparents, and my Auntie Chuchie. That's it!

But as I've gotten older, I pretty much crave a good bear hug. Or those really meaningful hugs, from the people that you love. Regardless, if it's a close family friend, family member, or you know...My Guy. Hugs are now a very welcomed part of my life. So when you see your close friends and family today, don't be afraid to hug. It's actually a really great thing to do! And I promise you...you will survive it. :) You might even enjoy it! ♥

Friends...

I've been in a bit of a horrible place lately. With a certain friend. It seems like I'm the only one that reaches out and tries. A bit troubling in a friendship. Don't you think?

I call her. I e-mail. I plan out get togethers. I buy her gifts for Christmas or her birthday. I always remember to call her on her birthday. But her, I don't hear from her. Unless she wants to meet for lunch. But if she knows I'm not going to be around, I don't hear from her. It makes me mad. And sad.

But the one thing that really bothers me, is I've seen her steal. Not once, not even twice. But multiple times. I didn't know what to do. And I didn't know what to say. Because it was stupid stuff that she took. And how do you say anything?

The first time, it was Burt's Bees hand salve. The second time, it was Rose hand salve. Then it was pens at Staples. Pens at Target. Then lipgloss at Walgreen's. So I avoided her. It didn't all happen at once. But over time. Maybe 4 years or so. My final straw was when she stole from me! OK, it wasn't a million dollars or anything. But some lipglosses from my purse. I don't think she figured that I'd notice. But I did. And I think that was low. In fact, if she would have even said that she liked them, I would have probably gave them to her.

So her I am. I've avoided her. I've not seen her in well over 6 months. But I'm not sure if I should actually bring this up. Or just stop talking. Because in the last few days, she's called and e-mailed. I haven't responded to either.

I mean, I don't want people like this in my life. But what so I do? Do I say something? Do I ask her about it? Or do I just stop responding to her? ♥

Sandals

I'm not much of a sandal wearing kind of gal. I have this issue with feet. I just don't like them. Not even mine. My toenails are always painted. Honestly, since I was about 7 years old, I've painted my toenails. My feet are in amazing condition. But I just don't like feet.

Therefore, I rarely, if ever wear sandals. Which is hilarious! Because when I was younger, I loved sandals! Probably because I hadn't discovered stiletto peep toes yet. But I once wore sandals. Along with not wearing shorts since high school, I have also put away all my sandals.

But you know what? It's hot as heck! And I think I should invest in one pair that I will probably wear down the road. You know, with my jeans of course! So I took to online shopping early this morning, because I couldn't sleep. And I found these beauties!

These are the Hookfin Wedges in Cognac leather. They're a little more than I would like to pay for sandals. Because I'm just not sure if I'm going to wear them enough. But these beauties are on sale for $65. I might decide to actually buy them. But I think I need to sit on that for a day or two. I'm still not sure if my size 6 footsies want to take to the sun just yet. ♥
